Hi Evan,

If anything the flights will be safer than before.  I am currently working in Santiago De Chile, and my company's security alert does not include any place in SA for air travel.  I suspect you will see an amazing amount of airport security.  You are about two weeks away, so it is hard to imagine that US air space will still be affected by by that time. Have a safe trip.

One thing we need to remember: these terrorists/mass murderers are trying to change our atitudes and feelings of security. If we begin to pull back from the freedoms we enjoy, such as the freedom to travel ( I have no doubt that  the government will resume commercial air flights today), then the terrorists have succeeded in more than killing numerous innocents.

I'm getting married in Colombia this year, and I won't let this sad and tragic incident stop me from travelling. I am certain that there will be even tighter security measures in every airport-- in the USA, in SF de Bogota, or anywhere else I travel to.

I spoke with my novia last night by telephone, and she and her family arre saddened and shocked, as we all are.
As a US Citizen and  a veteran, and as a traveller to Colombia, I've seen terrorist acts before- nevr, of course, to this scale, or with this loss of life.  I want to remind everyone, including myself-- we need to keep on. Don't let these mass murders place fears that stop us from travelling-- it'll be more difficult and take longer, but freedom of movement, which we took for granted before yesterday, shouldn't stop.

Sorry about the soapbox,
Jeff a

Evan,
I don't think airline trips that far out will be affected unless we have alot more airplane hi jacks, which is extremely unlikely.I think they just shot their wad and they better get ready to duck.
The one sure thing is alot more airport security.
