there it is again a sharp pain in my chest! my upper back is starting to hurt. dam why is my neck hurting? the stewardess walks by. excuse me do you have some aspirin? no we dont ! she acts as if im putting her out. mam you dont understand im having chest pains i need some aspirin. well o k i'll see if we have some but i dont think we do! ( what a b--ch! ). more pains ..tight back! breathing is difficult! i get up and start walking down the isle asking people if they have aspirin..no luck. my legs start buckling..i sit down. were is that b---h i mean stewardess? i look down the isle shes picking up cans and trays. sheeeesh!!! another stewardess comes by ..mam im having chest pains do you have some..zap!!! a hard one hits! pain is increasing , its more difficult to breath. she runs to the front and returns with a oxygen canister and applys it. the pain is increasing ...oh my god it is ..oh no no no! im having a heart attack at 39000 feet up! my mind starts moving faster and faster im thinking of the oddest things. am i gonna die right here with a bunch of total strangers jammed on a plane like sardines! L dam you L all i wanted was a couple of hours of your time! A i never really got to know A! my family ! my friends! why didnt i do things different in my life!!! i should have kept looking for the boy till i found him..i never got to say goodbye to him. suddenly a doctor appears.
mr pack talk to me . am i having a heart attack? i dont know mr pack but you are showing the signs of an attack..please relax we are looking for aspirin and the captain has been notified.
zap! another one hits! the captain comes on ..ladies and gentlemen we have an emergency please fasten your seatbelts. he guns it i hear the engines roar. a 45 minute scheduled time has turned into 20 minutes. we start a sharp decline, down down fast...boom! we hit the deck! ( it reminds me of my days in the navy when i used to go topside and watch the jets land on the aircraft carrier), boom he bounces we hit again.
we pull up to the docking and they load me into an ambulance and off we go to the hospitol.they wheel me in and here it comes I V's , blood tubes, ekg, xray , bodyscan , questions ..this SUCKS! by now the chest pains have stopped , i still feel tightness in the back and my jaw hurts.
i arrive at the hospitol about 8:30 pm and im there until about 11:30pm. the doc comes in by now im feeling much better but very tired and the back remains sore. so whats up doc! trying to humor myself.well mr pack we dont know whats up. what do you mean you dont know? well something happened to you at 39000 feet and we are getting mixed signals . for example your blood test seems to be o k, yourpulse is ok , your blood pressure is ok ..it could be better. and your e k g does not look good..we see several signs of a problem in the e k g reading. yea so whats that all mean ? well we think you had a mild heart attack but we dont see any damage. yea yea so what now? well we'd like you to spend the night in the hospitol .
look doc you have no idea what iv been through and all i really want to do now is go home. ok we'll sign you out but promise me this . go home take a cool shower , dont eat, go to bed , and over the next few days relax dont get excited or stressed out. take an aspirin everyday, and go see your regular doctor first thing monday morning..ok? ok you got it doc!
i call the airport from the hospitol ..hello can i come by and pick up my bags? oh we're sorry mr pack we cant seem to locate your bags. now why am i not surprised! im goin home!
