Colombia wins Copa America,their super bowl

Colombia won the Copa America today beating Mexico 1-0.It was like their super bowl,the biggest prize in the most popular sport.
My wife,Rocio Stella was acting just like I do on super bowl Sunday,glued to the TV,drinking Coronas,cheering her tean on.One problem with soccer is the scores are so low.Today only one point to go crazy over.
When the game was over she called a Mexican friend to gloat.He wasn't home but she left a message on his recorder.I couldn't understand what she said but it had the flavor of "hey-hey-hey,we kicked your butt".
I hope I can talk her into watching some American football.

My girlfriend went over to one of her girlfriends house to watch the game.  After they won, there was so much partying going on that she could not get a cab and had to stay at her  friend's house last night.

They are all very happy and proud of Colombia, as well they should be.

She'll probably like NFL.
There's merit in both sports.
But, you have to admit, all the commercial breaks in NFL, is making it harder to get into the games.

Pete, ask mi amiga Rocio if Colombia has ever beaten Mexico in Mexico's national stadium -- Azteca.  No they haven't and they probably never will.  This is more or less the case that we have here, home field advantage in Latin America is worth at least a goal.

Nevertheless, I'm happy for Colombia!
