Patrick,

A while back you said you'd put a search engine on the latin page if the experiment with the Russian page worked out. Well, the Russian page search engine is gone and there's none on the Latin page.

Any chance of getting one here? I've got specific things I want to be researching and I'd prefer to have an engine search the archives before posting my questions.

Thanks,
Sol

We're currently running near disk capacity and I'm now having to delete the older archives to make room for newer ones.  There are free search engines that can be set up, but because some of the archives are disappearing as the new ones are created, the search engine data base fills up with invalid links (that's what happened on the Russian board).  The only way around it would be to code my own search engine.  I may try a simple grep style search engine and see if it's fast enough to work.

If you use Microsoft Internet Exporer (5.5 or greater I believe), there's a built in search feature that allows you to search pages for key words.  You could use that on each archive page to search for something in a post's title.  It's under the "Edit" button, second from the left at the top.  Pull down and select "Find (on this page)".
