Lori's recent post got me thinking...I am 40 years old and have had many a relationship with mostly AW but also with women of other nations who were living in the US. For a variety of reasons none of those relationships worked to a level that I would call a "long-term success" or for that matter none were currently looking all that promising either... Then after much research I decided to try to form a relationship with a filipina and see where that might lead.
What I found with my fiancee; who happens to be from the Philippines...that I was unable to find in the US amazed me and actually, it taught me more about myself and why I have been previously unsuccessful in my attempts at finding a life mate then it taught me about American women. The key words are "then I was able to find in the US". I'm sure what I have been looking for in a lifemate exists here in the US...in many AW; but for a variety of reasons it's very hard to find. The fact that I am out of step with the American masses does not surprise me one bit and I do not hold the AW responsible for that. I'm just thankful that I live in a country where I have options.
Fortunately in my fiancee, I have found someone who posseses more of the attributes that I am looking for in a wife, then anyone I have ever met. This does not speak negatively of AW but of my fiancee and what she posseses in her heart and soul and of me and what I am looking for in a life mate. By the way my short list of attributes were..
1)attractive 28 to 35 year old
2)single, never married, no children, wanting to be a wife and mother more then anything else
3)intelligent, kind hearted and selfless through and through
4)christian
5)someone who simply loves me "as I am" and vice versa
I look it as a numbers game. The probability of my finding what I was looking for in a wife was low here in the US and it was much higher in the Philippines. The challenge is to do the soul searching to find out what is most important to you in life(or a wife) and to go out and realize that...God Willing. Good Luck to all Seekers.
