Hello all,
I returned from Cali Sunday night.
Spent 10 days there, all at Latin Best.
By prior arrangement Luz Amparo picked me up at the airport in Cali with a friend of hers, Carlos. Carlos lives about 4 or 5 houses away from Luz. One way from the airport $15, prepaid roundtrip $25.
Carlos has his own car and isn't a taxi driver.
I was a bit wasted when I arrived at Luz's house having been up for about 36 hours. That didn't deter Luz however as she sat right down at about 8:30pm and started going through her books with me. In about an hour and a half she had 9 appointments set up for me for the next day, Friday. Every lady showed up and on time. Each lady was pleasant and seemed sincere. Of the nine, three I liked, one especially. That night about 5 guys and about 10 ladies went out dancing at a club that seemed mostly for the 30 + crowd, fine by me as I am 52. We all had a good time and returned to the house by about 1:30am. Saturday I didn't have any appointments set up yet and was sitting in the house figuring out what to do next. There were a couple of women sitting in the living room, one of whom I started a conversation with. I asked her to lunch and spent much of three days pursuing her but the relationship was going nowhere. I chalked it up to experience gained. She did invite me to go on a picnic lunch with her family along the rio Pance. It was quite an experience and very crowded. The picnic was on Monday July 2nd, a holiday in Colombia. Some people think it isn't too safe out that far out of town but I never thought it was threating in any way. My lady friend did say that we should leave before it became dark. There were military personal around just in case. I had a good time but the water in the river was muy fria, for me. After I terminated that relationship, with no ill feelings by either of us, I went back to the three ladies from Friday that I liked so well. This time I enlisted the aid of a translator as my Spanish is at best only basic. This proved to be a wise choice for me. The first lady I met for the second time was the first lady I met Friday morning. Upon the second meeting I wondered why I ever spent three days pursing the other woman. Live and learn. As it turns out the first lady I met was the one for me. Something psychic going on between Luz, my novia and me? I think so!! I spent most of the rest of my time with her. I wanted to stay another week to further the budding relationship but could not as work demands required my return.
We did agree to continue the relationship by e-mail and threeway phone calls with the translator. I am very encouraged and am planning a return trip for sure in Nov and possibly an earlier trip as well.
I went to a retaurant/club by the name of "Balistika". It is in Cali somewhere but I do not know the address. Dancing started about 11pm. There was a table with 6 single young Calenas about 10 feet from me. I was there with there with a date. Those young ladies wanted to dance soooooo bad that they enlisted the waiter to dance with them from time to time. Guys, ya should'a been there. The people were having a great time, the ladies got up on the table tops and were dancing with great passion, wow what a night.
My novia has a 9 year old son. We went out together with him twice, once for pizza and once to the zoo. He's a great little boy and I liked him very much. This is a near perfect situation for me. I never had children and think I am a bit old to start now. However this boy is at a great age and mi novia shouldn't have another, says the doctors.
All in all I had a great time. I met a wonderful woman with whom I hope to have a rich and rewarding life.
Luz Amparo and Latin Best have an excellent reputation, I now know why. Altogether I had quite a few appointments, evey lady showed up and only a couple were a bit late. They all seemed sincere and very pleasant. If you aren't fluent in Spanish it won't hurt at first but I you want to seriously persue someone I think it is an absoulute necessity. I know my translator helped me a great deal and we became very good friends. I am going to put together a one page web site, with contact information, for her and will upload it to a free host. I also met two other lady translators, one of whom spent considerable time with one of the other guys staying at Luz's house. She is 19, very beautiful and, sorry guys, very married. I have contact info for them as well. My translator is 42 with body of a 25 year old. She is very cute and very straight forward. I think Jim, from the other trip report post, met her as Luz's as well. Francia also does all the paper work for in country marriages for US$200, she is the woman Luz uses for all the in country marriages from her agency. I introduced Francia to Robert from Latin Women Connection. LWC is located within easy walking distance of Latin Best. Many guys stay at LWC and go to LB and purchase a one week membership for $50 ?, the going rate. This is ideal as you get to use two agencies for a nominal sum.
I spent some time talking with Robert after introducing Francia to him. IMO he runs a good angency and has excellent facilities. He also told Francia he would use her for in country marriages as he doesn't do that himself. Francia also joined his agency.
For those of you who are fence sitters I can only say go!!!!!!!
From the time I first looked at a MOB site for Colombia, on the internet, until I was in country was about 5 weeks. This was my first trip to Colombia. And I am an old fart, guys. Find your huevos, get off your butts and go. There are women there and that is what it is all about.

Glad you had a sucessful trip. What were the age ranges of the women you were meeting? and your novia, what age is she? Can you testify to the "age is no problem" claim?

I will be happy to testify that the idea that age is no problem is nonsense. It is very true that there is a bigger age difference, even in the average marriage here. And there are many women here who prefer older men. If a 50 something man sets his sights at 30 something women..... which is a big age difference, he will do well and quite possibly live happily ever after. However I have seen far too many 40-50 something men that are hunting for an 18-20 year old trophy....... they can find them, but does anyone really think it will last? My suggestion no matter what agency you're at, start at the older book and look backwards..... I think you'll increase your odds of finding happiness.

Hi Mike,
My novia just turned 31, I am 52+. Perhaps being an unwed mother broadened her age limits a bit, I do not know. In her bio she stated 35-50 age range. One of the first things I asked her through the translator was about the age difference and she replied that it was no problem for her. It was quite an ego boost when she told me she actually liked my looks and general build. I'm 5'8" about 160lbs, fair skinned with hazel eyes and light brown hair and what I consider average looks.
My age range was 30-40. I would accept a woman with one child or who wanted to have one child. I do not have room for more, living in a smallish 2 bedroom condo.
One thing I did notice was that at Latin Best, and for other agencies this may also be true, they have mostly 20-30 year old women. I'd say in the 75-80% range. That makes it a bit difficult to find somewhat older ladies but THEY ARE THERE never the less. Another thing I noticed was that even thought I am not in the ideal? age range of say 30-45 many younger women (say 18-24) gave me long and appreciative looks. But I wanted someone older, by choice.
The first lady that I mentioned had a sister who was one year older than herself (37) and her husband was 53. Her younger sister (27) had a husband in his 30's.
I saw numerous examples of younger women with older men in Cali. But since they were strangers I do not know if they were married or only the "infamous" unfaithful husbands with young, beautiful girlfriends.

Some additional info for you.
By appointment I met women from 31 to 40 years of age.
I also met a fair number of the drop in's at Latin Best who were in the 30-40 range as well. I met a lawyer, a dentist, a photographer, a medical sales rep, a teacher and a couple of accountants. I do not remeber exactly what each woman's occupation was but their occupations formed a pretty broad spectrum. My criteria did not include looking for a piece of "arm candy".

Great report. Congrats. Just to explore an issue here tell me if you would return to Cali or the agencies there...in light of your comment that the majority of the pretty flowers are very young. And you want an older one.  Assuming you don't have a novia.  I realize you're riding high in the clouds these days with your success but try to give me an objective reponse.  LOL. Thanks.

I would return to Cali in a heartbeat!
And I would utilize the sevices of either Latin Best or Latin women Connection or both together, that would probably be best.
As I said I think the majority of the ladies are younger but not ALL of them. Between the above two agencies there should be a fine selection, if not the are other agengies in Cali, although I have no personal experience with them.
From what I have heard Norm's place Mis Gringuitos also has a fine selection. I wasn't looking for a model quality "10". I was looking for someone that I found physically desirable according to my tastes and a personality and values that I wanted, which may of course be far different than yours. I would say that about half of the older woman have at least one child or certainly want one or two, some have two and a small few have three. The child issue is something you will have to decide for yourself. In my situation I think I found the near perfect circumstance.
In the next day or two I may upload a pic or two of my novia and you guys who are looking for someone a bit older can decide for yourselves if someone like her is to your taste. If so I assure you there are many of my novia's caliber available in Cali.
So pack your  bags, get your passport and plane ticket and get down there! Have an open mind, be a bit prudent and cautious and keep your spirits light. Don't be a "Ricardo Cabeza". Make up your mind that you will have a great time and you will.
