The Jezebel Spirit - Other Forces at Work

I have read with considerable interest the recent posts bemoaning the newly domineering characteristics of the modern American Woman (AW). Also a few posters have spoken of the "passivity" of the American Man (AM). Well I hate to break it to you fellas, but this is not a new phenomenon. It has certainly gained a lot of strength in the last 20 years(read "The Divorce Culture" by Barbara Dafoe Whitehead) but has always been around. When men cease to be the leaders in their home that God intended them to be, that is when a woman steps into the vacuum and "takes control". I know that this post might be a lightning rod for feminists who think that this is a "caveman" philosophy and attack organizations like PromiseKeepers (www.promisekeepers.org) as being archaic and outdated. They even claim that these views promote domestic violence and spouse abuse. A curious phenonemon is that the definition of domestic violence has now been expanded to now include raising your voice (He yells at me!) or trumped up allegations of "stalking" (He followed me to the guy's house I was cheating on him with). These new tools are being used every day by divorce lawyers to win custody battles for women who just want to bail out, keep the house, move a new guy in and have the ex pay the bills. For some true enlightment to those with open minds, I invite you to consider the story of Ahab & Jezebel in the bible. The point is this: You have a true opportunity with a Latina because of the culture down there to be the KING AND PRIEST OF YOUR HOME. This is what they are used to, a strong man, a leader. Do not be a King Ahab, however or you will invite the Spirit of Jezebel to inhabit your life. This does not mean you can be an abuser or dictator. Great post, thanks. Unfortunately this topic will be pushed aside by most married men. Perhaps they agree, but they will say nothing to offend, "the boss". It is sad but true. Try to bring this up around other couples, you will be hanged. And don't bring up the Bible, or people will find one morsal of Text that strikes down your 1000, it is much easier in our culture to look down and walk away.

If you really want to make a woman mad, tell her that Angels were men, not little girls with wings.......

I read this article and don't think it is going to give men any positive direction on how to relate to women, and Latin women in particular.  When I man gets hurt he then becomes angry and sits down on his computer and writes pages and pages of nonsense explaining his ideas and theories on why he is the victim and everyone else is to blame.  When a woman gets angry she just cries.  I think that women may have a better approach here.  The thesis of this article is that  Ahab the symbol of the weak man, is a contributing cause to the "Jezebel spirit".  However, Delila also did a pretty good job of controlling Sampson.  And he was an alpha male.  An important lesson learned.  If you come on strong and try to control a woman she will just shift strategies.  And she will win because women are socially smarter then men.  Charming stories from the past won't give you any guidance in this.  Your only hope is to find a woman who really loves you and will thus use her intelligence to work for you and not against you.

Did she not sell out Sampson? I thought he was betrayed for some sort of gift of money or power by the Big "D". I think she betrayed because of greed, what does that have to do with Alpha Male? When men get together and share comments on relatioships, it is called wallowing in self pity, when a gals do it then it becomes Oprah.

 I think you should be able to find exactly the type of woman you are looking for in Latin America.  But, be up front with her and find out her views first, because they are not all religious and looking for dominant men.  I'm just looking for a good Salsa dancer myself being I'm an Atheist. But, if I had to be a Biblical figure I think I would pick King Solomon - the Hugh Hefner of the ancient world.  How many wives did he have?
