There is a young Barranquilla woman, an ex-novia of mine, that did quite a "number" on an unsuspecting American guy...a regular poster on LWL, and I believe a previous poster here. This young woman has the face of an angel(a very sexy one) and is about as "slick" as they come, but make no mistake this lady is an "operator".

I kept my mouth shut about what I had perceived and *learned during my brief experience with her(I noted the contradictions, saw the red flags and broke out like Carl Lewis), because 1)The guy was extremely happy with her from all reports and indications 2)Info coming from an ex-novio typically is received with much skepticism(ya think?).

Needless to say I felt bad after learning about the traumatic break-up after all the time, money, K-1 processing, etc.

The "story" given for her "flipping out" was that she had converted her religion and had become somewhat of a fanatic(which I didn't buy for a nanosecond based on what I knew of her); stopped wearing make-up, sexy clothes, etc. Anyway, with religious belief being such a touchy subject that is basically how it was left(to my understanding).

However, I recently discovered that this "fanatic" is now a new member of an introduction agency in Cartagena. And based on the photo, if that is how a religious fanatic dresses and poses...tell me where the church is.

So....

Do I blow the whistle this time in hopes of save some unsuspecting guy the heartache, or keep my mouth shut again based on the possibility that perhaps she has changed?

There are a few of you guys out there that are aware of more of the details of this woman, as well as the guy that she "worked". Any opinion is appreciated, but opinions of those that already have the "background" are highly encouraged.

Tai

ps - I Thank God I can speak spanish, because if I didn't I wouldn't have understood the conversations I overheard, and that might have been me getting "worked".

Why should there be a problem with exposing a toxic situation done by a lady as this? I see this only as educational benefit in a situation that can lead to huge emotional and financial stress. Every story counts, every comment from the heart means something. Look in Yellow pages, there are not support groups for guys "like us". All we will get are snickers and crappy remarks about "how we can't handle American ladies" and "we are just too domineering". Yeah bro, keep it comin'.

I have been silent on this board for a year, but know that I see the truth coming out about FSU, Latin, and Asian boards I can really see that the real scoop in here, and not all flowers and beads like you read in several of the Magazines, or hear from tour operators.

keep it comin'

IMHO, I believe a person has a moral obligation to blow the whistle if a serious wrong has been done.  I firmly believe let the punishment fit the crime.  However, how far this should be taken is the main issue in the air.  I have not had the opportunity to met this person... from what I been hearing, I should be grantful.  But something does needs to be done to stop or at least make it more difficult for this person to harm anyone else.  Granted, we're all adults and there is two sides to every story.  But it sounds like this person had ill intentions from the onset.  I would say, based your decision on how often and how long this person has been doing this.  If this person has let nothing but a trail of destruction... then I believe you have a good indication of her intent.

I will leave at that.  I hope this helps.  Take care.

If whistle blowing means posting your ex-novia's names, addresses and photos in a public forum than I think it's a very bad idea.

Unless I had some personal knowledge, it would be difficult for me to assess the truthfullness of a given story.  My experience suggests that there are often two sides or more in any relation gone bad.  This thing could turn ugly and vindictive.

I think a little preventative medicine would be a better remedy.  Every scam artist I've ever come across has given off sufficient red flags.  The problem is that we ignore them and begin to rationalize the behavior.

An alternative to going public in a forum like this would be to warn the agency that you met her through.  I think it would be fine to warn someone of a scam artist if it was done privately.

Normally, I would hope that a higher power would bring people such as this to their knees. I know the fellow in question that this was done to. I owe this fellow BIG TIME! Considering he was one of the few that kicked me off the fence & helped me with my "check-up from the neck-up" before I went down south. These things can't be handled in the court of law. WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO DO IT OURSELVES. I can only suggest, that evidence be mailed between posters since public flogging is a no-no. This witch hurt my friend bad... He didn't deserve this! No man with honest intentions deserves it!!!!!

TIME FOR A BEAT DOWN!!!!

I would like to see her stopped.  But how can that be effectively done?  And if she can be stopped who will release her penalty when she decides to change for the better?  And anyway what guy will listen to the truth when he's coasting down that blissful euphoric path?  And of course some believe that victims are victims until they wise up.  And they won't wise up until they have their faces bloodied by someone just like her.  Well good luck.   And bad luck to her if she's as bad as you say.

Whistle blowing should be a personal decision IMHO. I've blown the whistle on 3 men in the last 1 1/2 yrs  because
I was either personaly aware of, or informed by honest friends about certian types of  personal behavior that causes harm to others. To the best of my knowledge the 'others' were the innocent victims of predatory behaviour.

In each case I agonized over the issues. And in my case didn't want to be a participant, thru silence, of the victimization of unsuspecting and/or innocent people.

I am familiar with the guy that was victimized. One thought is that you might think about asking his opinion.

Other than that, I believe you should let your conscience be your guide.

Please tell us more details.  I am going to Barranquilla and Cartagena in September.  Anything I can learn from you would be very helpful.

You should blow the whistle.  Give us her name, telephone number, pictures and anything else you have.  It is really the ethical thing to do.  The reason slime like this do what they do is because they are confident they can get away with it.  And they do.  Because nobody speaks out.  She doesn't deserve any protection.  She deserves to be exposed.  She needs to be stopped.

That was a little radical, after all we're not sure she's a serial killer but yes blow the whistle by all means. From the description given of her bahavior she sounds unstable and therefor potentially dangerous not unlike someone else who'se been in the board news lately.

I'm familiar with the story from LWL.
For what it is worth, I didn't believe the religious conversion excuse, either.

Thanks for the headsup.
