Hi Rich. I've been to D.R. twice. It's a very beautiful island. I did meet a few nice ladies there, but as I mentioned before, many folks there have ulterior motives. I'll say this though; in D.R., you will see women with some of the MIND-ALTERING BUTTS you'll ever see! Nevertheless, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Have a great time, but no matter where you go, BE CAREFUL. PEACE.

I've dated two different woman there I met through correspondence so visited many times. The woman are friendly and will talk to you most places except the capital. There are universities in the capital and Santiago but in general they are not as well educated or cultured as Colombian woman. Prostitution is rampant. Of the two I dated one dabbled the other didn't.

Very interesting...thanks a lot for your reply

Whilst I was looking for Dominican tourist sites I found one web site offering to fix men up with prostitutes in the dom rep. I had dismissed it as some money making scam.

I am pretty much sold on Colombian women myself.  I never really took notice of Colombia until about 2 or 3 years ago when I was attending college.  It was around midterm during  the Spring semester.  The university was suppose to have a large influx of IEI(Intensive English Institute) students for the spring and summer terms.  I was working for the housing office in addition to going to school.  Half of those IEI students was from SA(Brazil and Colombia), the remaining from Asia.  The latinas were all very attractive.  I got to know and hung out with many of the IEI students that year.  For some reason, they had an affinity to me.  They said, I was more approachable than the other American students on campus.  Some even thought I was from another country--don't ask, I can not figure that one out for the life of me.  They said, they could understand my english better.  I guess I instinctively speak clearer and slower when I spoke with them.  Most of my free that year was spent hanging with them.  One weekend we all got together, and went clubbing.  All in all, that was probably the most memorable time I had in college.

Anyhow, have a trip.  When I get to Colombia, I'll make sure I check out Cartagena and Santa Marta in addition BQ.  If you get the chance, drop me a line or two on how everything went.  Take care.

Hey Keith,
Maybe I blinked and missed the sites you mentioned...lol.  What were the sights you refer to?  I doubt I will spend a whole lot of time next time I go, but maybe I can get out and see them....TIA,

Mike

Hi Mike. There's the Villa Country Mall. Personally speaking, I think it's cool. Barranquilla has a zoo, which isn't spectacular, but it's a nice place where you can spend some quiet time with your lady. Other than that, there's not much to see. If you decide to go to Cartagena, stop by the Volcano at Tutulmo (wrong spelling, I think). It's a three story high volcano that doesn't have lava, but warm mud. People actually go into that volcano for medicinal purposes. Unique, but fascinating. Plus, the natives in the area are friendly.
