side note to cartagena trip report part 4

From the very beginning, I've maintained a friendly relationship with both CG and BG and all the girls I've written to, meaning that we never talked about marriage or anything serious, it was a process of getting to know each other, we're all only friends. Sure we talked about what we wanted in our future, but staying cool and not allowing us to get ahead of ourselves. I'm not in a rush or desperate to get married, they know that and that has helped me weed out many of the girls I've contacted in the past. Some girls wanted me to fly down right away or talk about getting married without really knowing me, I'm not interested in that. Tell a woman that you're in contact with more than one and that you will travel to colombia in 8 months to meet them and see how many stick around, not many. CG and BG stuck around from the beginning, which is why I had to meet both.  I have also gained their trust and both know that I wouldn't do anything inappropriate. The thing that has helped is being honest from the beginning, telling them what is going on at every stage. CG is very sure and confident of herself, not in conceited way, but she knows she has a lot to offer and that's something that has attacted me to her from the start. Here's something that happened to me before I made the trip which shows what kind of person CG is. I had been talking to both girls weekly a few months before leaving. I began to notice a change in personality in BG, things she said that bothered me that I couldn't pick up through emails but noticed in telephone conversations, so my interest in her was on the decline before I made the trip.I had told BG that I was going to be with her but honestly I wasn't looking foward to it, even thought of backing out. Well, I mentioned this to CG and guess what she told me. CG insisted that I make the trip to santa marta to meet BG, can you believe this? Any other woman would have been glad that I wasn't interested in seeing the "other" woman but not CG. She told me, go see her, see if she's the same in person as on the phone, she said sometimes people get nervous on the phone or are more comfortable in person, but only by making the trip will I know for sure. She then told me she would be waiting for me when I returned, CG is strong.

I don't know about this man...it's kind of scary...A lady encourages you to see another woman.  Man what's the world coming to?  I would be expecting the floor to drop out from under me.  But  I guess I lack the real insight into the people involved here. You and the lady must be pretty mature people.   Don't get me wrong I hope you the best.  It's just when I hear that a woman has no problem with a man seeing another lady...well it's just scary!

Well, Buzzy, I disagree (respectfully). Sounds to me like CG is quite confident that she is the better woman (at least for Jedi) and she is now setting up to avoid a lot of "I could have had xxx woman" problems in the future. She's more or less saying "of course dear, look them all over, make your choice, in the end, I know you'll come back to me" A strong and wise move on her part, if you ask me, yet nothing tricky nor underhanded. I think that CG could be A (make that THE) keeper for Jedi.

Also quite honest of Jedi to not go behind their backs, but to be up front about seeing more than one. Bet you in chapter 5 or 6 we see that he and CG wind up together (or am I steeling you story line now, Jedi?)

Anyway, that's my opinon, whatever it might be worth.

CG is intellegent, confident and sure of who she is.I wouldn't say she knows she is the better woman but she does know that she has plenty to offer as far as character, personality, morals, intellegence, outlook on life etc and any man would be happy with her. She has shown a few cracks in her confidence,the first time was in the beginning(as described earlier in part 2) when she asked me how my day went with BG the day after I arrived in cartagena, this after never asking me about the other women, which to me was wonderful and cute, showed me a bit of the insecurity we all have, but I'll tell more about those cracks that in the next episode: Return of the Jedi to Cartagena.
