I see many latinas with the belly shirts/miniskirts/tight pants. Can you really trust a woman who looks like this? What happened to all the conservative Catholic values?

When I first went to Bogota and rode a taxi through the streets I was stunned.  I saw lots of women in mini-skirts and high heels with long hair.  Why was I stunned?  After I collected my thoughts I realized that in general the women in the US dress like men.  The women in Colombia dress like women.  Wow!  What a refreshing thing to see.

Yes, those beautiful young women in Colombia often like to dress in sexy clothing.  My wife arrived here and started wearing skirts to college to study English.  I tried to reason with her that women don't dress that way in the US, but she wouldn't hear it.  So I gave up.  Arguing only made it worse.

If you can't accept the way a woman is dressing when you meet her you shouldn't marry her, because she won't change.

Which reminds me of the time we were watching "La Baby Sister".  If you haven't seen this show, you're missing a treat.  And it's made in Colombia with Colombian actors and actresses.  One evening the beautiful, young lead actress was getting food out of the refrigerator in her employer's house (she is a live-in nanny).  She was wearing only a white t-shirt.  She bent over and the view was spectacular!  My wife looked at me and asked "What would you do if you had a woman like that living in your house?"  I smiled at her and said "I do have a woman like that living in my house!"

Dear Steve:
I tip my hat to you for your answer "I do have a women like that living in my house" What a perfect answer! That question could have destroyed the less experienced man. That question was a time bomb...and you like an expert tech., was able to dismantle that bomb before it exploded. You need to give lessons...Craig

Go to certain parts of the world and you'll see women casually dressed in a thong and no top.  Does that mean that the natives aborgines are all "loose"?  No, it just means that's how they dress in their society.  I think Latin women tend to dress much more provacatively than do American women.  It's just one of the cultural differences.  It doesn't mean they're more likely to have loose morals.  You're applying American standards outside of America, and it doesn't work that way.

lets look at a few facts

Latin America is warmer, so people tend to dress to the season.

latin women dress "for their man"  will wear sexy clothes on any occasion but especially when they are with their man.

I have no problem with a woman that tries to look nice and sexy.

being Catholic has nothing to do with what they are wearing.

Latin women are also very fashion oriented and social.  always want to make an impression.

marry an Amish woman if you don't like to see skin and want a religious woman

I haven't observed your posts lately. But in the past day here you are with three in one day. One about suggestive clothing, one about call her a whore and one about 19 year olds know how to close their legs. Are you trying to tell us something about yourself? With some evidence of bitterness I might add. I don't think Howard needs to be taken where you want to go. You have no real knowledge of the girls actual behavior only supposition. By the by, you are confused, Catholics are much more liberal than protestants. Have you been to Colombia ? More than once ? Is it possible that you had some thing happen to you there?   My advice is hang out at bible class in Alaska, they cover their bodies real well up there, although with all that snow its hard to find stones to throw. Concerning your statement about the miniskirts, belly shirts, I can see the confusion it may cause an observer. As a catholic, I never came to the conclusion about trust being tied into dress ware. I think Latina's especially from Cali, Colombia dress the way they do for three reasons.
1. Latina's are very sensual, and competitive, and our conditioned from an early age to be this way.
2. The weather in Cali is warm so they dress accordingly.
3. It drives men into a hormonal state which renders their ability to reason into temporary dormancy.

My novia is Catholic, and dresses on occasion they way you described. I consider myself to be somewhat of a conservative Catholic. I wouldn't want her to change. Also remember Latina's speak freely about sexual issues, and unlike American's don't have hang-up's about expressing themselves, whether orally (not that way) or physically. My last point is, it's dangerous to judge another, leave that to God.....any good Catholic would know that.....Craig

You mean to say that the seductive manner that you dress can not be a significant judge of personality? Do you mean it matters not what a person wears? If you needed heart surgery tommorow, and you had a choice of two female physicians, one who wore a miniskirt, one who work a nice dress, who would you choose? Which surgeon would you take more seriously? Which surgeon would you trust your heart too? So how could you trust a lady with a trashy outfit?

I am Catolic, and I was taught to dress with respect, as if you were in Church. Of course, when I travel to Cent A. and South A. I see this much.

Yes appearance does matter, call it like you see it.

Believe your eyes, not your male anatomy.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Maybe you would be more at ease if the women dressed like Sally Field on the Flying Nun. I would never be so simple minded to judge a person's character by the way they dressed. But on that note I love the way they dress, and I'm not looking for them to change.

Believe me, I am used to the flames on this board, but yes I do find Amish ladies mores respectable than American ladies. I asked a simple question, now everybody is upset, I am used to this. Yes I travel to Latin countries on business trip (German Company), no my english is not so good. But flaming me becuause I have seen the same downfall in Latin culture I have seen in US/Euro. So go ahead and make you silly excuses for why these ladies dress in this matter, time will tell. I hope I am wrong, but I am not.

good luck all

Alex,

I just read your profile after my reply above. It says 'you are open to suggestions in your circumstances', you might start showing that willingness. There appears to be some discrepency between what you wrote in your bio and the real alex you show in public.

Much like "one hand clapping".

Your bio also lists asians as your choice and says you visit ASIA on business, not LA as you now claim. You seem very confused about certian things. Although you feel certian that you will be flamed.

So far your public statements as to women, clothing and dress codes are archaic and ignorant. And your bio doesn't match your public statements. So even giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are a little confused, you are beginning to look like a TROLL.

We don't like TROLLS here. They are disruptive, annoying and waste time and bandwith. However to offset the annoyance TROLLS cause we take time for some humor at the TROLLS expense. And so far WE are Batting 1000 vs TROLLS 0.

So if you're not a TROLL, time to change a few things about the way you deal here, and if you are a TROLL consider yourself warned.

Well, I thought a troll lived under a bridge? I have not been deep inside S.A. or L.A. in several years, and I was disturbed by the clothing the young ladies have been sporting, have you not noticed this? I will be in Brazil in Sept., I like to enjoy a nice ladies company when I arrive in a new city, but I don't think I wish this from a cutie in a belly shirt, do you?

I don't mind comments, bad or good, heck, I haved saved tons of money on my Per Diem's just listening to Hotel advice from these boards. I accept comments GLADLY, good bad or both.

Hey, they don't have this type of forum on AOL, do they? I am off this weekend so I tried to catch up on the scoop, the boards are getting very interesting.

I am not the one who is taking up for these ladies, and what's wrong with dressing like a lady? Go ahead, make excuses, time will tell.
