Larry: thanks for your response, it's good to have an exchange of viewpoints and the reason I joined this list. When I was a cop in New York I was most successful when I was able to put myself in the mind frame of the person, I was focusing on, criminal, runaway et. I use the same principal in Cali......from their viewpoint (the women from Cali) I see men traveling down to Cali promising relationship's but for reasons like distance, and time, (which are enemies of men interested in finding a women in Colombia) get in the way, These women want to find a new life, but should they put their eggs in one basket, I didn't  adopt that philosophy when I traveled to Cali, and you can't expect they should either. From their viewpoint it seems the women in Cali are beginning to find American men unreliable, many of them feel degraded by the endless interviews, which are nerve racking for them. Imagine coming to an interview talking for 5 min to a gringo, and then having the gringo send you home in a cab. How do you think they feel? How many times can they go through that? Can you blame them for triple dating, maybe 1 of the 3 comes through. I know from talking to some of the girls in Cali last week, that most of them hate going to the big parties where 20 or more gringo's attend and 100 or more women, They hate the competition and most who go decide they will never go again. I'm just a realist, women are women no matter were you go in the world.........but I still think the average guy can do way better in Colombia then any place I know. Many Gringo's who travel to Colombia I think were expecting these women to fall over when they arrived. You still have to have some charm, dress nice, clean your nails, et. It's about showing them you are special, and so are they. When you do you stand out from the crowd they notice..............thanks....Craig

Both times I read them! Saw them on LWL first. I totally agree about the pre-printed interviews etc. Guys should try and put themselves in the Lady's shoes.

Would you fill out a questionaire from some guy you just met, and aren't even sure you like?

How would you feel if you get all "dolled" up and travel across town to have the interview end in 5 minutes when the guy decides you aren't his type?

Would you enjoy going to parties where there are 5-10 guys for every girl? I'm sure they don't like it either.

Seeling ladies dressed to the "MAX". Only to be interviewed by some clown wearing cut-off's with a tee-shirt & needing a shower! Guys interiviewing in speedo swimsuit with an over sized tee-shirt, as if that made it  alright!!! I was pissed, so I know the ladies had to be. The super corporate types who's interviewing style was soooo COLD!!!! a-choo! Showing photo's of their BIG HOUSES & CARS...YUCK!!!

A number of these ladies & I spoke casually in regards to the "GRINGO MACHISTO" as opposed to the home-grown. They said, why should I put up with it soo many miles from home, in a strange country & culture. If they were this rude on their best behavior here, what kind of monster would he turn into, once I married him? Other than the "Sharks", trying to buy your way is a waste of time. And you "Will" be avoided. You "Will" be talked about to the other women.

If you remember my first party experience at the Palace. The ratio was exactly that. I was nervous initially...very nervous. I started serving drinks & finger food to try and make the ladies comfortable. They rewarded me, by making me dance all night long...LOL! They were not crazy about the ratio, but it is something they expect, since not as many fellas visit as much as those who TALK LIKE THEY'RE GOING TO VISIT!!!!! That's for you guys who write, but NEVER SHOW YOUR FACE IN THE PLACE!!

As much, as many of you try to deny it. This is a "Two-Way" process...

Peace.....Hoda

Well now that you mention it...I remeber a guy in Cali telling the staff as he was checking in, and looking at photo's, that his plan was real simple....as soon as 'he' found the one 'he wanted' he needed a little help getting 'her papers' in order for the trip home. As I listened in astounishment and amazement all I could think of was finding him a leash, so he could take Lassy for a walk when he found her. Of course he bombed big time..

So ...some guys do go south with very unrealistic expectations. And the word needs to continue to get out that with the wrong attitude one can fail going south or any other direction.

However thanks to forums such as this, I think there is a 'new breed' of adventurers heading south much better prepared to find and be found by love.

Regards, Houndog
