Hola Chicos,
I'd like to get opinions from the board on which is easier to apply for a fiancee visa here in the us
or to go there and marry there and go to Bogota for DCF?  Has any veteran used the fiancee visa and
obtained permission for your wife to return to colombia prior to receiving full resident status?
gracias
Diego

A lady who comes to the US on a K-1 visa can get permission to travel out of the country long before she actually finally becomes a permanent resident, which technically can take a couple of years in some cases. The permission is called Advance Parole.

The K1 Visa is definately easier to apply for. There are only a small amount of forms compared to the DCF. No apolisations needed on anything, and only 1-2 forms need notarization if I remember correctly. It  generally takes 4-6 months...although somebody posted once they got it in 30 days....I still don't believe that...but maybe he was Clinton's cousin?
