My ISP is provide through Northpoint which declared bancruptcy.  AT&T bought their assets but doesn't intend to continue this service.  I have been advised that any minute my DSL will shut down permently and I should find another provider quickly.  DSL takes 6-10 weeks to install and I can get a 56K for a few weeks maybe.

But will I be able to post?

How do I change my ISP in my info so I can continue and use the same name and info?

Will I go through the cyber hell that some others have posted?

I'm melting, melting, melting, melt......

Bear

P.S. this is not an April Fools Joke it is real.

Your browser has your password stored in a cookie.  Unless you erase the cookie or re-install the browser, you'll still have it.  If you do re-install a browser or lose the cookie, just re-enter your password once when asked and it will once again be stored in a cookie.

I had a lot of trouble regestering at first because my home email account had ".com" in it and at work it had the word "mail" in the address, both of which were no-no's to Patrick's regestration software. But once he got me resistered (at work) I post most of the time from home. After registering, the FIRST time you post (on a particular machine and/or using a particular ISP) it will prompt for the password. When you enter the password, it will save it in a cookie and that's how you are able to post again and again without re-entering your password. So when you change to a new provider, the worst that could happen is that it prompts for the password again and makes a new cookie (you do remember your password, I hope).

The actual ISP you are using doesn't matter (I use two different ones from home, in fact) when you are posting, only when you are registering. At least that's the way it worked for me, once I was able to finally get registered.

Patrick my want to clarify this or correct me (after all, it's his system and he knows how he has it set up, while I just surmized the above from observation), but I don't think you will have any problem posting with a different ISP as long as you enter the password when it prompts you.

if you want a very cheap, very reliable established
isp in the meantime, I was going through the same thing
as you, i had two isps go belly up within the last 2 months.
I decided to go with a more established name, and
I just signed up with earthlink.net
Those guys are very very professional, toll free number
24 hour tech support,,,,awesome.
the deal I got was first two months free, then
19.95 a month thereafter....Not bad at all. So far they
have been awesome to use.
As far as the registration on this page I dont imagine
it would be that complicated.

Personally i think they are a bit strange also, scientologists, but following that same logic , You would
have to stop seeing movies with stars in it who are scientologists, so there goes all kirsty ally, john travolta, tom cruise movies....lol,

But I would still feel like a portion of my money is going straight to the scientologists...moreso than by seeing a movie with an actor that practices it...color me kooky that way.
