If it isnīt coming easy for you, though, remember, you learned English just fine, so you can learn at least a reasonable amount of Spanish.
Even after nine months in Spain, learning the uses of the subjunctive forms of verbs feels like deciphering the IRS code, but no one in LA is going to look down on you for not getting that right. Iīm just glad Iīm not learning English and trying to figure out case-by-case how to pronounce sequences of letters like "ough" or "gh"!
Advice I have given several times: get Barry Farberīs book How To Learn Any Language. He has learned 25 languages with varying degrees of fluency in his lifetime, and provides a lifetime of experience for only $11.
