Kind of new to this thing guys...be patient with me. So much going on in the press about Colombia being unsafe for Americans. I'm researching this subject and want to get inside scoop from the veterans out there.

Would a trip to Colombia be unwise for someone who's considering atrip for the first time and should I consider another destination? Also notice that you all mention agencies based in Colombia and not those based on the internet? Insight please.  Also would like to know if you all ever schedule trips amongst yourselves...versus going alone or through tours?

Like I said please be patient with me...I'll get it right.

Where? Well there's plenty of "maganda babaes' in the Philippines, I was there in 1997, very safe (maybe not Mindanao), and friendly people who can mostly all speak English. If you want a blonde, forget I even mentioned it, but if you are interested, ask me privately.

While the situation in Colombia is unstable, the guys who have been there say that they feel safe and think that the trip is worth the risk and the risk is acceptable. Of course something bad can happen, but all good things in life require that we take some sort of risk. Like they say, take no risks and you risk everything.

Read the archives and you can find a lot of information concerning this subject. Over the years there have been many warnings concerning traveling to Colombia, but most feel that it is reasonably safe within the scope of our mission.

Tim Nelson.

The advise has been to stay at an agency and follow advice. Don't go at it alone and use common sense.
