Hola Gringos,
What is the deal with respect to changing her last name to yours once you get married?  I would think that would be taken care of at the time of filing for the adjustment of status.  I wonder what some of the headaches will be, if any......Later

Mike,
My wife and I got nmarried in Colombia and got her visa through direct counsolar filing in Bogota. All of the paperwork had her maiden name on it.When she entered the US
she went through the INS and they started the paperwork for her green card which she got in the mail in 6 weeks. It had my last name on it.She said"not Eiguren,Moncaleano".She wanted to keep her name. When she got her social security card it had to be the same.also her drivers licence and her bank account and her credit cards. So she got my last name wether she wanted it or not.I'm not sure if she could have had it done with her last name or if it can be changed now,but she has gotten used to it.

Mike,

Just recently, Stivalis & I joked about the addition of my last name to hers. As some of us have seen, it is custom for many of our ladies to have, both their fathers last name & mothers maiden name. I told Stivalis she might get a cramp writing Sivalis Borja Vergara Davis, everytime she has to fill out an application or other related documents.
We have documents here, that won't have enough of those little boxes for her to write all four names. Heaven forbid if Stivalis has a legal middle name in addition to the four already mentioned...LOL!

My apologies for not answering your question Mike. I told Stivalis, depending on the legal issues, she can keep as many of her names as she wants. I ain't gonna be the one who has to fill out her applications...ROTFLMAO!!!

Peace....Hoda

very true!  The otherday, I just asked my wife what to do with her middle name.  She now has my last name, but on many of the insurance papers I've been filling out, it asks for her "middle initial".  Well her middle name is "de Los Angeles".  What is her middle initial?  :-) I'm just leavin' it blank!
Peace/Cuidate
