That same day we picked up the marriage license and they gave us an appointment for the judge to marry us the next day at 3pm.  We arrived at the Supreme Court Branch 3 Place of Justice at about 1pm.  Maricel’s aunt and uncle and 2 of her cousins were there as witnesses.  I ask if after the ceremony I could have extra certified copies of the original marriage certificate?  “Yes, don’t worry,” I was impressed with the judge; he was in his 70’s and loved what he was doing.  He talked about his family in the US and how he visited Florida and Disney World.   He told Maricel she would like Florida coz it is warm like the Philippines.  He complimented me on looking in shape coz I had a flat stomach and we got into a conversation on me being a Martial Arts instructor.  He finished by being honored that I chose a Filipina as a wife and told Maricel that she carries with her the diplomacy to let the world know what a Filipina is all about and never to dishonor the Philippine culture by being a bad wife.  That done we swore the oath and no ring.   I thought we were there only to sign papers.   We both came in blue jeans and t-shirts no ring.  No matter just hold hands and it was done.   Come back in 3 days and pick up the papers after it has gone through the registrar’s office.  I kissed the bride and she was still to shy to kiss on the lips in public and off we went to buy a pig for the family celebration.   Aunt Lita had us follow her down town to get the pig of the century.   After haggling with a few venders we finally settled with a nice pig that was being roasted as we haggled.  Back home it was roast pig with coke and rice.  Next day it was off to Bohol, we got the ticket and the boat didn’t leave till late.   We could have gone on a super ferry one and a half hours.   But they don’t take motorbikes.  So we went on the slow ferry four and a half hours but at half the cost.  To be continued: page 20

What a trooper she is!  Putting up with long bike rides, in the rain, in the sun, resorts in the boonies, plank bridges, peeing on the side of the road with swarms of mosquitos, roads from hell, missing rings, slow ferries, rusty ferries, spur-of-the-moment destinations, and who knows what's coming next.  Congratulations to you and Maricel!

No ring?

I guess we forgot to tell you about that one Peter (LOL).

Did you at least do the "coin ceremony"?

This has got to be the weirdest honeymoon/wedding ever reported on Planet Love. Yep, your wife sure got a strange husband (ROFL).

Congratulations anyway! :-)

Congrats Peter Lee,
Never mind the nay sayers, you two will be fine.
Hope you make it to Bohol if you didn't on this trip.
