I waited for his time. He did not do it at my time, but
his way sure was right. Good luck, God bless

Carl,

You are right! I have seen it happen with friends and family members. I don't believe that I chose my fiancee, God did. Unlike my other relationships. I tried to hard to fight it, but it was no use. I knew that things would be very difficult. When seemingly insurmountable problems came up, simple (although not always easy) solutions appeared. Due to concerns over my children's care, I didn't know if I was going to be able to go to the Philippines. It wasn't until the airplane was over the Pacific Ocean, that I was certain, that I was on my way.

... in response to God's Will, posted by Dave H on Mar 20, 2001

My wife and I probably make a record of the widest age difference. Exactly to the day of 47.5 years. We have been married over a year now. I still live in amazement how she can love me so much. We are proof when it is God's will and plan, it is wonderful. We get along fantastic and she does not pay any attention to ones she is around when they say something against her being married to such an old man.
Sometimes, I am concerned she may come home some day and tell me she is in love with a younger man. But,I know our marriage was made by God and just leave it up to him.
She is happy, bubbly and shows real love everyday. What a wonder when one has God in their heart.
Thanks to SteveG and DaveH for your comments.

Carl,

You're old enough to be her husband. ;o)

You beat my friend. He and his Filipina wife have about a 40 year age difference. They are a great couple, with a very happy marriage! I have never doubted their love for each other.

Your wife is a wonderful person.  I really enjoyed talking to her the other night and had some good laughs.

Thanks guys for your compliments of my wife.
I certainly think she is wonderful. Bill Gates could offer
me all his assets for her, I would turn him down promptly.

Carl,

I agree.   The last thing I want to do is condemn someone elses marriage based on something as subjective as an age difference that appears large based on perceptions of American society.   Us guys and gals who take this route seeking a spouse have to listen to enough criticism from the outside, we should try to be supportive of each other and not nitpick why "my" marriage is better than "yours" because _____________ (fill in the blank with your reason of choice).  Smiley
