My advice above is mostly for Manila or Cebu.I don't think they have tourist police out side of Manila. I ride on the roof of the jeepney out in the provences I'm to big to fit inside! lol I love the view up there!

Very common.  In Indonesia, look out for "old" bills.  Some are no good at all, some will spend but can not be converted back to other currencies.

You get "had" before you know it.

Another thing that Tess mentioned is to don't let them count the money while it is still in their hand....they can fold bill over to where a bill is being counted twice.  Instead ALWAY let the money be laid down on the table and counted each bill individually.
