For anyone interested, these were the topics covered in the visa interview that my wife had at the consulate in Manila this week. The consular officer who conducted the interview was a white male. She said he was polite and businesslike, but he never introduced himself or gave his name.

Who filed this petition for you?
What is the name of your husband?
Where did you meet?
How long did you spend together in the Philippines?
What year did you start writing?
What year was your husband divorced?
How many children does he have?
Where is his ex-wife now?
Who is your husband’s employer?
What is his position at work?
Could I see some pictures?

He looked at her scrapbook with photographs, asked a couple of questions about the pictures, and that was about it. He never asked for any letters, phone bills, or other documents not included in the submission list for the interview. The whole thing took about 10-15 minutes. She had an early 7 a.m. appointment time and was out of the building by 8:15.

... in response to Interview Questions, posted by Ray on Mar 10, 2001

Ray:

Almost the same type of questions asked during my interview.
My appointment was 9:00 am (I was there 7:00)and I was interviewed 15 min to 12:00. After my interview I took my lunch and went back to embassy again for my visa delivery payment. I was out of the embassy by 4:00. Migs was so lucky.

I remember the Consular Officer asked me  about the Date of his First Marriage. I told her we never talked about it, what i'm interested of is that his divorce and our future together.

Stephen still thinks that i'm  weird eating fish with heads. By the way, i just bought galunggong and bisugo(fish) and a pack of dried squid. I still have to figure out how to cook the dried squid because I know the house will be smelly.

Give my regards to Migs.

Best Wishes,

Tess

Hi Tess!

You have to cook that dried squid outside! Use the gas burner on a barbecue or an electric frying pan with a looooooong extension cord. The neighbors will hate you but it will save your marriage (ROFL)

Tess,

You can also cook dried squid in your kitchen, just turn on the fan of the range hood to high so the smell will be filter right away.  You can cook this on an electric smokeless griller (sugba w/o uling) or on a frying pan w/ some cooking oil (this will smell).  GG also smells especially when marinated in salt, pepper & vinegar & fried until it gets crispy.  Sssarapp!!   ciao      rgg
