i cant for the life of me, figure out how to use it,, i sent mY gal, MARIVIC, A message, but cant figure out how she can send me a text to my hotmail, thanks for any help. OUTLAW

Hi outlaw, outwest here,

With chikka , you sign up with a username pass, then you can choose to download the software from their website and install it, or, use their website to log in,

I recommend using the website to login if you are unfamiliar with downloading and installing programs to your computer. If you are familiar with downloading a program , choose to download their software, then install it to your computer, its much easier to use than the website.

When you login, you choose to ADD a user, etc, and you enter her cell phone number.starting with . 63xxxx
Then she accepts

She CANT text to an email address, only to your chikka account directly, just like yahoo messenger....You can login to ur chikka and text directly to her cell phone, its free to text to her cell for you, 30 messages per day, it cost her 2.5 peso per text so tell her to be conservative, easy to use up 300p fairly quickly.

Hi Outwest,

A great how-to explanation of Chikka. Thanks for refreshing my memory. It's simple to use, but I forgot the costs. I don't use it much, but my wife often does to text family members. I'm no computer wiz, but we installed it in both of our computers easily.

Don't know about chikka, but there is a procedure for sending text messages to an e-mail account for each cell service provider. She should ask around for help or go to a local service store (Smart or Globe) for instructions.

This "was" the procedure for Smart Textmail, but I can't confirm that it is still valid:

1. Make sure that the Message Center Number on your handset is set at  +639180000101

2. Go to your celfone’s message editor option (i.e. “New Message” or “Write Message”)

3. Type your message in the following format:
e-mail address(subject)message

Example: john@smart.com.ph(meeting) Board meeting set at 2 pm

4. Send message to 200

5. The recipient then receives this as an ordinary E-mail on his PC or laptop
