No, I rode to the church in an air-conditioned "limo" (LOL).

The wedding was in San Nicholas Cathedral in Surigao City and the reception was at the Gateway. I had a great time!

Surigao Ken got married in the same church.

Do any of your relatives in Dinagat belong to PBMA? I know about 90% of the people in San Jose are followers of PBMA. That's where they had the big shootout last year between Ecleo's boys and the Philippine army. I think around 25 died that day. Ecleo is a crazy whacko if you ask me...

No way....Ecleo should go to hell.....he..he...
I dont have any relatives in Dinagat except for my sister in-law.

I knew it Ken's wedding is in Surigao Cathedral,I've seen their wedding picture. And I think I'm familiar with his wife, maybe one of my mother's pupils before, not really sure.
Hmmmnnn....I've never been to gateway....maybe next time we'll try to go to Surigao if not of those threatening crazy abu sayyaff.

Actually, I didn't realize until just recently that my wife was at Ken & Nancy's wedding. She didn't know them at the time, but just happened to wander into the church during the ceremony. Maybe they could spot her in the video, hiding in the back? LOL

No Abus in Surigao yet. If you do get a chance to go back to Surigao, be sure to eat in the Gateway's restaurant. I highly recommend the Escabeche and the Crab & Corn Chowder. Just DO NOT try their "Fillet Mignon"!

Hi Esiang,

Visa delivered on 9/10, a day of extreme joy...followed by a day of extreme sorrow and anger. My wife caught one of the first flights out of Manila about a week later. Married mid-October in the US.

Why are you sending money to a fiancee' on a regular basis?  Did you know that a good Filipina would never except it?  Even in the case of an emergency!!  I sure hope you are not setting yourself up for a long hard, fall because sending money usually is a BIG RED FLAG!!!  I had to beg mine to let me buy her a cell phone to save me $5-600/month on long distance collect calls.  She only agreed after I said she was buying it for me and she could use it till I got there.  Even after that she bought the cheapest she could find.  Once married she rarely used all the money I put in her bank account and twice used none of it.  All the guys on this board who have been successful all brag about how little their wives spent where as the ones who failed all have a start similar to yours.

Hi Bear and Honey,

To answer your questions I did promise her Dad I would pay for her school 3500 pesos per month.   Her graduation was more expensive with the special clothes and new shoes.  She itemized everything without me telling her to do that.  I put $200 in the account to see what would happen.  Not much, it sat there for quite a while and an extra 1000 peso was withdrawn per month while in school.  E mail, Jeepnee to school, some snacks, I probably couldn’t do better myself for a 1000 pesos a month.  I'm sure  she would not be as frugal as Honey but I hope close.  It is early yet and she has had money in the ATM available but did not use it so far.  There is a 1300 peso expense for a passport.   The time will come when she will have to budget her wedding and use the card for that.  I am building a trust relationship, so far so good.

If the guy wants to send the money on his idea thats fine, its like a gift to her why not accept it.She see's it as a present. If the filipina ask money for her that's a RED FLAG.
Oh no I realize how bad I am because I accept the money my husband send me before we got married.Yah I spend some of it too processing my papers and travel expenses. Raquel
