A bomb just exploded at the airport's waiting shed. This is in front of the arrival area.  The place was packed with awaiting relatives of passengers at a time when three flights were scheduled to arrive.  For those who have traveled here, this quonset-looking shed is where your Mahal must have waited when you were coming out of the exit gate.

18 fatalities so far and scores of people injured. In Tagum City, another bomb went off killing one. Everyone is shocked as Davao, although a likely target, was thought to be safe from such attack given the political standing of the Mayor and the tight security the past week due to fighting in Cotabato. Will keep you all posted of events.

Hi Roy and Celia,

Hum and I were shocked to hear of this bombing! Glad to know  you and Celia are ok.Let's hope they catch those responsible karon dayon. This is not good for such a wonderful city like Davao. My sister works at the hospital in the emergency room in Davao and I'm sure it's a terrible thing to see.

Hum said that the property at Laz Terrazas might be getting more affordable. But maybe a bit risky for a kano to live on the hill?

I am always amazed when I see terms like "mastermind" or "separatists" to describe these terrorist criminals. Lets call them what they really are...cowardly little parasites who attack innocent civilians including women, children, and infants. A Muslim country in part of what is now the Philippines, would be worse than Afghanistan run by the Taliban. Time for the government to swallow a little pride, stop listening to the liberals, leftists, communists, Gabriella network, and the Muslims and accept the assistance of US combat troups in exterminating these varmint!

I agree Dave!

Maybe we should send The Walker over there with Calamity Jane. That would surely put the fear of God into them! :-)

Hi Ray,

That would certainly make me feel a whole lot better. Maybe some of Calamity Jane's brothers and sisters also! ;o))) That would make terrorists think twice! Hard to run away.

ROTFLMAO!

You can run from Calamity Jane but you can’t hide.

I could just see one of those skinny little Abu’s trying to hide behind a coconut tree. Then old C.J. cuts loose and rips a hole the size of J.Lo’s butt right through the tree trunk. Scratch one Abu!

Hi Ray,

I hope Vicky isn't the jealous type. Shocked))) I'd certainly feel safe with a lady like Calamity Jane around...I wonder if she has any sisters? :oD

Roy,

You know, besides Gerlie and her family, I keep you, Celia and your family in my thoughts as well.  I really hope they get everything sorted out over there before more innocent people get hurt for no good reason.

My heart sank when I looked at the pictures on the internet and realized that I was sitting in the very building six weeks ago!  My heart goes out to the innocent victims, who were probably just chatting with one another, passing time, waiting for loved ones to arrive.  I always have great trouble understanding what is accomplished by killing people who have nothing to do with someone's real gripe.
