"AJ" forced himself into the world 10 days early at 12:04 PM today, coming at a wopping 7 lb. 5.5 ounce.  Mom did handled him without a hitch during the 19 hour ordeal, at least that is, after the epidural.  Poor thing has his fathers hairline already but still is as gwapo and his mom is maganda.

Pictures to follow!!

named us all "ADM".  Alvin Dee, Arthur Deen, and Allan David.  I wonder how many more times he could have used that combination?  My big brother was a "Jr." so his son is "III", everyone calls him "Trey".

When I was young there was 1 of our surname in the phonebook, my father's.  Now there are 7 pages.  Other than my brothers I don't know any of them.  My family came to America the 1st time in 1588 and then again in 1680.

I have done a lot of research into my name/family.  I know that my surname means "family of the brave".  I have checked its root back to Hebrew from English, through norman, to celtic, to Hebrew. My second son's 1st name, "Royce" literally means "king" (yes I made his middle name Arthur, hence "King Arthur").  Its a combination of Celtic (Roy) and Norman (ce).  Arthur means "Bear", "rock" and "learder".  The Bear meaning came from a man named Bearus which was one of the fabled "King Arthurs".  The King Arthur legend covered 270 years and there are 3 castles suspected to be "Camelot" depending on which of the "King Arthurs" you're tracing.  I actually believe the Arthur legend of Bearus who was leading a revolt against the Romans. As they forced the Romans off the beach he came out of the woods and saw a Roman sword stuck in a tree.  He pulled the sword out and was proclaimed to be leader and ruler.  Then he began a war that eventually united the clans into the British.  Other "Arthurs" fought to maintain the unity against the Vikings.

My surname is even more interesting and if you saw the movie Brave Heart, my ancestors were one of the 3 ruling families (Wallace, Alexander and Naughten) at that period.  John Naughten of Scotland in 1100AD had 3 sons (all named John).  My line came through the second son John Naughten and believe it or not a decendant of his lost the Naughten inheritance for incess.  He was planned to marry King Alexanders 2nd daughter but they got him drunk (like in the bible) and married him to the 1st daughter.  When he realized what had occurred he eloped with his true love (the 2nd daughter) to France and was deposed from his throne for incess.

One of the more interesting items I have learned in geneology is that it was one of my family that 1st brought watermelon to Texas.  Another is that I am related to both Henry Clay and John Calhoun who were opponents in the early American Congress.  Another is that I am directly related to Geronimo (Chicisaw(SP?) Apache from my fathers Apache mother). There are two books about my family in the Clay Geneology library here in Houston (2nd largest to the one in Salt Lake, Utah).

Now I need to do some geneology on my wife so we can know her history as well.

Hey Steve,

It may be easier to list what you aren't! LOL That's cool about your family member sailing with Columbus.
