This happened the first part of 2003. the following is a repost from Anastasia

Answering your messages. About those 2 years and 1 day, I think we were
married Feb 21 2000 and now it is 2003, so it is 3 years and one day
(that?„ s a great observation any way Smiley), more over I have a 10 year green
card and Andre who is an American citizen, so I don?„ t think that INS may
have anything against me staying here.

With all due respect to science and medicine, I have really lots of miracles
that happened in my life that are enough to believe in God, Jesus is with me
all the time?K just look at Andre, he was conceived when Lance probably
already had cancer, and Andre is a healthy happy cute boy, just Lance?„ s
copy ?? Dealing with Lance?„ s health issues, during this period of 3 years,
I myself became some sort of a scientist and a nurse, researching, talking,
meeting and learning from people from these fields. We should do everything
in the natural; God can choose anything as a cure.

And again for those who don?„ t know what happened and who I am ??. My name
is Anastassia; my husband Lance Wasem died of infection that spread out due
to perforation in his colon and that happened because of a colon cancer
metastasized to liver and abdominal area. Sorry for details. Also I have a
SON, his name is Andre, right now we are living at Lance?„ s sister?„ s house,
trying to figure out benefits from SS, 4O1K, stocks, selling condo, paying
bills?K.

Burial was on Thursday with the following service celebrating Lance?„ s life.
This Sunday pastor from our church will dedicate 3 services to Lance, also
Friday Microsoft?„ s flag was on half mast and they published an article
about Lance in their micro news and internal website. Sounds great, but I
don?„ t feel that great, at this moment I can agree that ?this is true
testament that the good get set free while the rest of us are stuck here
paying our penitence??

The only thing I know for sure, I am an optimist, some time will pass and I
will be happy again, and if God sends me a son, his name will be Lance. :-)

Does anyone know what happened to her and her child

LP is right, her husband died of cancer.

Anastassia is still around; I wrote to her a few months ago about doing some translating.

There used to be a story about Lance and Asastassia's engagement and some web pages that Lance created, but the link doesn't work anymore...

I rememeber her. Sad story. Husband died of colon cancer. Last known address was Sacramento Ca with her mother living in Pa. Unsure of her current situation but it shouldn't be too difficult to find out:

Or maybe one of our Sac area based guys know.

I'm curious to learn what became of the woman whose American finace (Sandy Booker from Oklahoma) was killed in the Moscow theater attack and what became of the efforts to allow her emigration. Another heatbreaking story. He had gone there for her (successful) visa interview and to bring her back to Oklahoma. I know Svetlana Gubareva (whose 13 year old daughter also died) appeared before a federal grand jury in 2003 but she returned to Russia after her testimony. There was a website devoted to her emigration but I can no longer find it.
