She had her medical exams and X-rays in Kiev. She had her finger printing in Kiev and final interview in Warsaw and she was granted immediate immigrant visa. It takes long time if the sponsoring spouse is a green card holder. I am US citizen, which means there she does not fall under any visa quota; the only time is for processing.
Please note that this is in 1997. I presume things have changed now especially after 911.
