My wife (Russian) is missing her sister, big time. Her sister is 28, anesthesiologist, single, no kids. No, I'm not looking to hook her up with a fiancee. (Already tried that - Took my best friend to Russia to meet her, but thet didn't click).
Anybody here have any luck bringing family members over on a tourist visa?  What about a student visa? Anybody smuggle a relative into the US over the Mexican border?

Need some ideas. Thanks, Will

(I'm sure this issue has come up many times on this board, but I have not checked in for many months.)

Sorry to say, you can forget about this. Within the last sixty days my Ukr. wife and I tried to bring her single daughter, age 23, here on a tourist visa. We had the help of our U S congressman and still she was turned down flat. The bureaucrat to whom she first had to first hand over her $65 never read her letters of invitation, or any other docs. He simply counted her money, and then said she was "at risk of not returning to Ukr."  It was the most flagrant ripoff I've ever been exposed to. It's hard to feel good about the INS after this awful experience... Advice: Don't waste any time seeking out help from your D.C. Reps. They have virtually no influence with the INS.

And call it a vacation and let them have their little get together.

I saw on the Travel channel a really swank hotel in Saudi Arabia on a tiny little island.

Who has stayed there from this board Huh

I don't think I would qualify to sleep on the beach much less inside the lobby at that place.  But very nice and ritz'y.
