There are several books, although there is not any particular book I can recommend.  Go to russianbrides.com, the anastasia site, and follow the links to the books.  I bought a book about Russian-American marriages that I found to be of limited usefulness.  As far as pen pals, I would say that the general view is that these women are not interested in a pen-pal relationship.
