I have similar experiences. But I look at it as; the people who are doing all this looking, are just, acknowledging her beauty and my good tastes. I would much rather have this, then having people look away with pity, frightening children, or to the extreme, having them vomiting. Or thanking me, for having the compassion to make a mercy pick, of such a wretchedly looking woman.

This post hit home. I am not that much older than my darling-- we look about the same age-- but yes the staring can get to you. In Europe, while we are walking, guys will even suddenly stop in front of her and block her from walking forward (as in "setting a pick" in basketball) and then give her the eye as she squeezes to get around them. It's so cavemanesque!

Ken C's reply and Bobby Orr's were right on the money. What I'd like to know is when people cross the line, what should I say or do? Ken C-- you mentioned doing something... what do you do/what have you done?

Scaught,
I don't know how I would handle the situation you describe other than maybe act like a pulling guard an open up a hole for my running back.  LOL.  Like I said in my original post, I really do take the looks/stares as a compliment to my good taste in women.  There have been only a few times that I thought I should do something about it.
-
On one occasion we were having breakfast with friends in a rather nice place.  A guy ,with his wife and kids, could not stop gawking at Lena all through our meal.  I was sure he was going to get busted by his wife as he was not cool about it at all.  She either didn't catch him or choose to ignore his obvious actions.  His stares were to a point that he made not only Lena uncomfortable but our friend's 12 year old son.  The boy thought the man was staring at him as he sat next to Lena.  After finishing a very uncomfortable meal, our party was leaving the restaurant, the guy continued the stares, but now with mouth opened.  As we reached the exit, I turned and walked back to his table and said "You stared at my wife through our entire meal here.  I know she is a beautiful woman and it is difficult not to stare, but you really should have more class than that.  We have to leave now, so I wanted to know if you would like a photo of her that I keep in my wallet."  As I pulled out my wallet, he shook his head "no".  I turned and left.  Boy, would I have liked to hear the rest of his dinner conversation with his wife.

Thanks for sharing that incident. I think you handled it very well. Staring agape is definitely no-class. I bet he got in real trouble with his wife. And the kids must have wondered what kind of guy their father is. It was clever to play the wife angle against him.

You know, I thought back to some of the stunning women I have seen in my life in airports and wherever. I stared at them. I tried not to be obvious and I looked away at times, but I could hardly take my eyes off these girls. They were breathtaking. I still remember a few, even after more than 15 years.

Imagine that you didn't know you wife and you happened to see her in the supermarket. You'd stare, wouldn't you?

I agree that there is a line between class and no-class. I do wish that I didn't have to think about "the next time" everytime we go out, but if I were the other guy, I'd know I'd do the same, but with discretion. And we shouldn't freak out over it.

Stevo,
Bobby Orr hit the nail on the head below when he said you have to have the confidence to pull off a big age dif.  Either you have confidence that you DESERVE to have the youg beauty as your wife or you will go crazy with your insecurities.  I have no problems with guys checking my wife out and I also have no problem putting a few in their place for stepping across the line of good manners.  I have seen guys getting hit by their wives/girlfriends for looking at Lena.  There was one guy that knocked over an endcap display of product in a grocery store.  He REALLY caught he!! from his wife!  The guys almost want to give a sign that you did good, but it is the women that give the dirty looks.

We like the Venetian the best too.  (I know I recommended it to you at one time)  There is also a great resaurant in Paris Casino that we love.  The wedding packages available in LV are great too.  We found a neat little chaple for ours, but the hotel packages are good too.

cautious.  I don't need sarcastic comments from board members who have shown their mean-spirited side in the past.  But I still may send one just for the hell of it.
