I got through to an INS person at the Nebraska center this morning.  I submitted my papers on June 13th so this Friday will be 120 days for me..  I asked her what she could tell me.  She said that my case HAS been assigned to an officer so it shouldn't be much longer.  I asked her what "dates" they were working on and she said she couldn't tell me an exact date because they jump around a lot, backward and forward, but obviously they are working on my date (June 13th) now or it wouldn't have been assigned to an officer yet.
I told her there were these different web sites that said what dates they are supposedly working on and that one says they are still on petitions submitted on May 6th!  She said that these web sites are wildly innaccurate and not to listen to them because again, my case has been assigned and my date is June 13th..

So what I got from the conversation was- My case has been assigned so they are working on petitions filed from June 13th and that these web sites that say what they are working on are quite innacurate.  Unfortunately she could tell me nothing more about how much longer etc..  She said that the officer my case has gone to could have 3 cases on their desk or 200, so she just didn't know! LOL!

What a joke..  I will say to you guiys who have to go through Nebraska-  I think you should move to Vermont and file and THEN move back home! LOL!

You are about 1 week away from approval. If it was assigned to an officer it will only take a few days for approval.

I also don't know how long ago it was assigned to an officer, so I guess it could have been a day ago or a week or more ago!  I will hope the latter! LOL!

It takes more than a P.O. Box.

FWIW... it's not just Vermont. ANY state that the Vermont service center services would work...

Obviously I can't think like a bureaucrat, or I would have had my lady here already!

Sounds good to me... All you need is a big enough one. I guess you would only have to sleep there...right?

Or... What about a tent on a campground in Vermont for about three months? You could go there for the fall colors, and get approved!
