My brother wants to visit Eastern Europe to  find a city or cities with heavily Germanic concentration of women .What cities have such a  historical concentration of women? He wants a area that is economically depressed and the women are willing to come to the USA.

I would strongly suggest your brother travel over to Poland if he wants to find large populations of ethnic Germans. I travel to Poland a lot on business and pleasure and I am very familiar with the country.
You have large ethnic German populations in several areas, the largest of which would be;
Gdansk. Formerly known by its German name of Danzig. The "free" city of Danzig was renamed Gdansk and given to Poland after WWII. I have been there several times and you will hear german spoken throughout the city. Many of the "polish" women you see in the city are actually ethnic germans and look very germanic. A good time to visit is the summer when you can also enjoy the beautiful Baltic beaches located close by at Sopot and Gdynia.
Poznan would also be a very good choice. It has a very large german population and again you hear hear german spoken throughout the city. You will find many blonde looking ethnic germans here. Poznan is the convention and fair capital of Poland and there is always a large contingent of european businessmen in the city. The last 2 times I was in Poznan I encountered german men that were looking to meet a "polish" wife.
Finally I would suggest the city of Szczecin or as the Germans call it Stettin. It was given to Poland after the Potsdam Conference in 1945. The people here are really friendly and I would say close to 50% are of German descent, perhaps more. It sits about 30 miles from the German border but is still a polish city.
With the economic situation in Poland he will find many ethnic germans ready to leave for "greener pastures"

... in response to German Women wanted, posted by fishtiger on Oct 11, 2002

the German migrations, to the Saratov region, began in the 1760's. They were induced by Catherine the Great (who was German- BTW) to migrate; because of their agricultural prowess, as well adding stability to that volatile region. By 1900, there were approx. 2,000,000 Germans in the region. However, migrations to the Western hemisphere (primarily to Argentina and the U.S.) began in the 1860's, due to repressive Tsarist policies ( John Denver, Angie Dickinson and Tom Daschale (sp) are descendents of this immigration).

The Russian Civil War and the ensuing Red collectivization, caused approx. 350-400,000 deaths, or about 25% of the remaining German population in the Southern Russia. The final act, in their diaspora from the region, began in 1941; with the ensuing German advance, they were transported to S.W. Siberia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

So... if your brother wants a German gal in the FSU, his best chance would be in either: Omsk, Novosibirsk, Almaty or Bishkek. The greatest concentrations being in: Kazakhstan (4.7%) and Kyrgzstan (2.4%). Russia, for example, has a considerably smaller % (0.6%). The %s were quite a bit higher prior to 1991; however, there has been considerable migration back to Germany (approx. 300,000 by 1995).

On a funny note:

I had asked my friend in Moscow, about these "Volga" Germans awhile back. He said, " They're just rude, un-educated farmers (regarding the re-transplanted Germans), but ohhhh... do they give the Turks (in Germany) hell."

Best Regards,

Vaughn

If somebody named Connie or Claire had posted "He wants a area that is economically depressed and the women are willing to come to the USA." What would your response have been?  The fact is THAT was a very controversial statement to make and the act of trolling can be committed by anyone, regardless of the good done in the past or length of time participating.

That one statement, to me, is an indication that indeed there IS something wrong with some (not all) of the guys seeking a foreign bride.  It says that some of us do indeed need some type of advantage in attracting a woman and I took offense to it.  I did not need to go to an economically depressed area.  That is just where the woman who attracted me happened to be.

I extend my appology if I'm wrong, but if it is hiding in the bushes and smells like a skunk, I assume it is a skunk.

Dobry Dien!

Hey, just because you didn't NEED to go to the FSU to find a woman doesn't alter the fact that the MAJORITY of guys who do are doing so PRECISELY for the reason above.  There is nothing WRONG with us, we are just fishing in a great spot which happens to exist because of the economic conditions.  Do you really think guys would go to the FSU if the odds of finding a woman weren't much greater than back home?  Get real.  Do you think I would have found a beautiful wife 20 years younger than me if I had stayed home?  You are the EXCEPTION, obviously.

There is something WRONG with us...we want good looking, younger women!!!!

Stevo,
Very good post.  I am of the opinion that the majority of the AM going to FSU countries are "date challenged" in America for one reason or another.  That is why any AM with dating skills will usually find great success in FSU countries.

Putting aside the question of age difference... (Because I agree that a woman twenty years your junior probably wouldn't give you the time of day here, but not all of us are seeking a woman that much younger...)

There ARE other reasons besides economic disparity.

But there is no question that the women are looking forward to upgrading their economic situation through coming to America.

My Fiance told me that the ads in the Ukrainian papers actually are setting these expectations. She said that they say, in essence:

"Women! Wouldn't you love to marry a rich man and live comfortably forever?"

So, when the agencies are using this as the "hook" to bring in prospective customers... you better believe that the women's expectations are that they will improve their economic lot.

Is that a bad thing?

Opinions vary. But, as I said before, I have as much respect for a woman who is attracted to a man's bank account, as I do for a woman who's attracted to washboard abs, or a cool sports car.

Why is this somehow seen as shallow, but its all right for a man to be attracted to a woman with big breasts? (Or vice versa)

I'll never understand that?

Hey Bubba
I have been to Moscow and Kiev, and am trying to help
out my older brother who has his reasons for wanting to meet
women with Germanic heritage. He is quite sincere and
knows little about FSU, Ukraine or Poland.
There is another guy who has a name like "fishman" I think
so you may be confused here. I have absolutely no reason to be a troll and do not have any other name I post under. You can have Patrick check this out.
I apprecitae the more intelligent hip posters who have recognized we all basically are doing some kind of fishing
in the best lakes {cities we can find}.

If you go to the FSU and look for the opposite, a woman who has a life style comperable to the USA who is not interested in coming to the USA

First of all how many would you find?  And, secondly why would you want to seek such?

The Germans have dispersed all over Eastern Europe in the last fifteen hundred years, but how much of their Germanicness survives who knows? I've never met any in EE.

There are many pockets of German speakers to be found in the Balkans mainly Transylvania in Romania and the former Yugoslavian countries who migrated there from Saxony, Catherine the Great invited many Germans to settle in the Volga region of Russia, but Stalin exiled many of them to Siberia during and after WWII and deported many others to Germany.

Sweden (a germanic people) used to have interests in the Baltics hundreds of years ago, mainly Estonia, but how many settled and if any of the Germanicness still survives, again who knows?

I think your brother can forget about Poland and Belarus as the many ethnic Germans from these regions were cleared out back to Germany before and after WWII, likewise the same goes for Kalingrad.
