I found here a website where one can download hundreds of essays written by Russians in English. There are hundreds and hundreds of topics, and you can find such as ALCOHOLISM , American values,  Banking services in Russia: theory and fact, Democracy in Russia,  Economic crisis in Russia,  The cinema in Russia today

What am I missing here?  This web site appears to be totally in Russian EXCEPT for a few titles -- when I click on the title in English, I get a page full of Russian.  Of what use is this to someone who does not speak/read Russian?

Click on the heading, then scroll down the page and click on the blue page symbol next to the red writing and download the article to your disc, save, open and read.

Anastassia wrote her own short but revealing "essay" in an earlier post on this board about how she really feels about America and Americans (the customers she seeks by consistently spam-posting her website after her name on this board).  Anastassia wrote that America is the "mother of materialism, stinginess, thriftiness, ruthlessness and cold-heartedness."  Anastassia says Americans are materialistic and stingy and ruthless and coldhearted.  And now she wants readers of this board, mostly the Americans whom she holds in contempt, to send her money for her translation services?  Maybe it would be good if she learned that America is also the mother of the great consumer voting device we call the "BOYCOTT."  We generally don't give money to those who offend us.

As you stated, " We generally don't give money to those who offend us." Couldn't have said it better myself! Let's see... insult our national character, in a myriad of ways, then pander for the old, evil greenback. That's, a unique recipe for financial success in the sales arena. Perhaps, she hasn't learned certain key elements of the "American dynamic", quite yet? (s***-eating grin at the present)

I wonder sometimes if there are enough ladies in the FSU to satisfy the insatiable need for some people to abuse. So what if she posts her email address and credentials. So what if she doesn't like us. A lot of people throughout the world despise us for our arrogance and intolerance. I haven't found one of you guys who's opinions threaten me. Lies threaten me, but I haven't had to deal with it for awhile I feel the same way about Anastasia, and as far as some of her opinions....I certainly agree with her. Not all, but some.

Our own little microcosm of disfunctionality perhaps?

Man I am glad I am not inviting this whole group to a party. I am not sure if we would barbeque a pig or.....

... Granted do not expect writing worthy of a Nobel prize. I read about a dozen essays, and plan to read some more when I have the time. Most of them appear to be writen by 8th-12th graders, with a couple college level writings.

It was interesting to read how one writer explains the problem of the Russian Banking system. Another wrote about two American cities (NYC and LA0. He liked these two cities because all his favorite music groups came from them. I read about the history of King Henry VIII. In that essay there was a coment made about how the pope was purposly messing with European politics, and causing wars, because that was what the pope was interested in. Another essay was debating if crime really payed or not. I could not imagine a High School essay written in America to have the same way of thinking as these.

I appreciate the link, as I enjoyed the glimpse into the way of thinking of the next Russian generation.

I tried a few and found nothing worth the trouble to download, just a load of cock-eyed views by children on America and Great Britain, didn't bother to try any more after that.

I actually do that, only not that often as I am a very busy lady, but you shold go back and see some threads. i would be glad to do that more often if only some of you really appreciate it or those who do just somehow show it or let me know. (and some do that's why i am still here :-)

Also i am a member of other groups and lists, so i come here quite often but this is not the only place where i post with my guidance and advice.

It is all the matter of time, I very often just wonder where you guys get all this time to participate in almost every thread! Amazing! :-)

you taking the opportunity to advertise your credentials and website whilst telling us about some link or other. Everything else has been your answers to the flak you've attracted by doing this.

As a RW who lives in the USA and has studied at an English school in Cornwall maybe you could add something to any of the recent threads concerning RW friendships after arriving in the USA?

I'm sure that a lot of the guys here would welcome some insights from a real live Russian womans experience of USA.
