I have found my contact in the Senator's office invaluable on several occasions. And though they usually can't really expedite a 129-F petition in a service center, they CAN often find out status and make sure that if it has made it to a case worker's desk that it doesn't sit there too long. But they probably bring them enough cases for a day at a time and until then it is sitting in a pile somewhere. When will the INS adopt a tracking system like Federal express that will track cases by bar-codes like packages? I just hope that as the INS becomes part of the Homeland Security department that things get better and not simply buried in more levels of inefficiency!
