... in response to Moscow help new website, posted by zebrazeb on Sep 1, 2002You know, when you think about it, you ask the question "for what reason would the Moscow embassy delay fiancee visas?". Although there are Muslems in Russia, I think there really aren't that many who are applying for fiancee visa's. Could it be ....
- the number of "scammers"? I mean the subject seems to be a major preoccupation with you guys.
- the number of "runners", and the number of real or fabricated cases of spousal abuse involving Russian women?
- the fact that Russia is so much concerned by their shrinking population that a few months ago the Russian government proposed outlawing lesbianism because it produced no children? I'm sure a request from the Russian government to the US government to reduce the number of child-bearing age women leaving Russia for the USA would be strongly considered.
Unfortunately, I think there are valid reasons behind the delay and the solution is to make a rock solid case for the I-129 visa application. It may be that the days of casual approval are gone and the only way to get a fiancee visa is to build a rock solid case. I mean multiple trips to visit the same lady over a couple of years. I mean a real relationoship.
