Okay,
Pulled a few "strings" with my contact and got a REAL LIVE PESON at the State Department.
I was "officially" informed that:
A new policy did go into affect August 1st. It states that
due to September 11th. EVERY application will have to go through an
"administrative review" after the interview takes place and then the
visa will be issued as soon as possible. This is a world wide
policy.
I did ask if it was permanent and was told "for now"Huh??

I was also informed that the NEW policy should be on the State Departments web site, but I can't find
it.

stupid is as stupid does. This sounds like a perfect way of getting fraudulent visas. Case in point someone steals the mail and now have access to our personal records. talk about adding fuel to the red tape fire boy this will really add to the fire and create more problems and lost documents. What is the point of filing at the ins office then. It sounds like the goverment just wants create more red tape problems. All I can say is call your congressman and senator and complain and get pettitions if need be.  rick

Jack,
Yes.
I have "2" clients who's ladies had their interviews on 8/01 and were told to fill out an "envelope" and they "Embassy" would contact them at a later date.

Their "interviews" went fine and they passed but due to this "new" directive they have to wait for the mail.
