in a week, I will have had my K-1 in for 60 days.  I am thinking it would be good to have my girl and her son get their medical exams in Kiev pretty soon here.
Jack sent me the names and addresses of these 2 places in Kiev-

Poliklinika Neftepererobativayuschey Promishlenosti Ukraine
Spusk Protasov Yar, 9
252110 Kiev, Ukraine
380 44 2774181
2448941

American Medical Center
Berdichevskaya str, 1
252116 Kiev, Ukraine
38044 2116555, 2116371, 2119411

He thought there was now a third place but couldn't remember.  I know one of you guys had said that the medical office at some oil refinery was a good one??  Would that be one of the places listed above??

Can any of you confirm either of these 2 places or the third one that Jack said may still be out there??

Any advice regarding the medical exams??  Does she need any special paper or anything to get it??
I will have my girl call to ask what parts of the exam can be done by her doc at home in Dnepropetrovsk..

Any and all info appreciated greatly!  ;-)

Later,
Oscar

V went to the AMC in Kyiv with no problems, HOWEVER, I do remember someone else who posted here who went there and got to Warsaw with incomplete paperwork. His fiancee had to go find an approved Dr. in Warsaw to complete her paperwork and take it back to the Embassy. Of corse now that the visas are not being issued the same day it is not so critical but who needs the hassle?

The offices in Kyiv will have all the forms needed but have her bring her vacination records.

Oscar,

Here is the contact information for the 3rd site in Kyiv:

Hospital for Oil Refining Industry of Ukraine
9, Spusk Protasov Yar
252110 Kiev 110, ukraine
011-380-44-277-4181 or
011-380-44-244-8941

This is where Olya - and numerous other ladies I know - have gone for their medical exams. The cost is slightly less than at the AMC - and the service and attention they received was better.

Notably, we have been to the American Medical Center for other matters and with other people on quite a few occasions. They are a fine establishment and they seem to offer quite good care, but they also know they have a 'lock' on the expat community in Kyiv and they charge accordingly.

As for having the medical performed in Warsaw, it is certainly possible - and there may, indeed, be some advantage in the unlikely event there is some problem that needs attention. It simply seemed much easier and more convenient for Olya to attend to the medical in Kyiv since she also had nearly a week's worth of running around to get papers translated and notarized in Kyiv anyway - the medical was just one more item on the punchlist to get out of the way.

Warsaw was reserved for the interview and a bit of sightseeing.

With the recent changes in which the visa may no longer be issued the same day, I would probably re-think that, but am not sure if I'd come to any different conclusion. I was very happy with the service she received at he location above.

Also - you can, indeed, have her local doctor prepare a list of all the vaccinations and major illnesses she has ever had. This will save a very small amount of time - possibly.

I hope this helps.

- Dan

My recollection is that the Oil Refining place is cheaper than the AMC and was easy to schedule.

Oscar,
As for this:
"I will have my girl call to ask what parts of the exam can be done by her doc at home in Dnepropetrovsk."

She CANNOT get her MEDICAL done by just anyone.
She needs to have it done by an "approved" doctor the Embassy recommends.

I "suggest" that she does not get her medical done at this time and to have it done in WARSAW as "if" there is a problem (there have been cases where the ladies doctor had failed to include all the proper test results)she is a "walk" away to get it straightened out.

ALSO we have had men tell us that the "KIEV" Doctors try to "overcharge" the ladies and do way more that is "required" for the exam.

I also "suggest" that she get all of her medical records  and take them with her to the exam.

Hi Mark,

I know that she must go to an APPROVED Doc, but evidently, there are a few things that CAN be done by her personal doc and she would take those results (whatever they are) with her to her exam with the approved doc..

Certainly she will take all her records with her.

I know nothing of the docs in Warsaw and have heard that all the women in Ukraine get their medicals done in Kiev.. So I don't know about that..
