I was there last September and October. You'll probably miss the summer tourist season. If you want an active night life, clubs, etc. It'll most likely be quiet. If you're looking for a quiet vacation in a beautiful area, you will find that. At that time of year there should be lots of options for hotels and apartments. The Sanitoriums are interesting also.

Here's a website of a very helpful guy who's living there.

The Ukrainian Caucases are supposed to be beautiful.  I have never been there.

I went to Sochi and really liked it.  Great food, alot of things to do.  Nice hotels, some expensive, some moderate and some cheap.  Flats if you want them. Sochi is a small city easy to get around.  Good luck.

Where are the Ukranian Caucauses? I'm fairly up on my geography for that area but I've never heard that term before.

Got me too! Is that a Crimean or tourism term? At least it is an abuse of the term Caucasus Mountains. I doubt, though it is a wild guess, that the mountains in Crimea reached more than 5,000 feet, while peaks in the Caucasus I believe are over 17,000 feet. Them's big hills! I have to admit I have never been to either so I may be off base.

William, he was asking if anyone had any other ideas for vacation spots, so I most humorously suggested Yellowstone!

It was a joke!
