Today I went to check out the getmarriednow site, and it appears as though they have changed their wording to reflect the company's true policies regarding emails to their ladies - which was not in place this time last year when I joined.  Initially, it was written to be understood that unlimited emails/translations were at no additional charge.  When I received my confirmation email this email stated that translations were $1.30 per page; (yes I asked the agency about this but never got a response since the left hand here didn't know what the right hand was doing there).  Since I was trying to get off of the e700 system at that time I should have realized that this was actually a pretty good deal, but instead I got a little ticked that what was good for the website, wasn't good for the agency in Novosibirsk.  Either that or I was not paying attention to the "exact" wording on the website, in which case I would have had to read between the lines to actually derive this meaning from the marketing.

Another thing, is that I had forgotten about the money back guarantee that gmn offers after 1 year and no results.

They also have what appear to be some decent testimonials from satisfied customers also.  Not as many testimonials as ltp, firstdream, or other bigger sites, but they do have a few.

The price that Lilia quoted me last year in email for translations is actually on par with what my old agency charges the ladies (40 rubles per page).  Funny thing though, I've seen some of the russian letters that those ladies would write, and when they say "per page", the ladies take it seriously.  They start writing at the very top left edge of a piece of paper, and cram as much russian as they can on that thing, (lines on paper?  What lines?).

Anyway, once I registered with GMN last year, I started receiving  introductory letters over the next two weeks directly in my email in box, of course none of them cost me anything more than the membership.  All communication is done directly through normal email with the agency.  (For their Kherson office, I have absolutely no experience whatsoever).

So, in retrospect, I must retract my negative commentary regarding getmarriednow, I should've checked my attitude at the door on that one first, and written the details later.

For what it's worth, here's the intro letter I received when I joined:

We have received your profile in Siberian Partners International (S.P.I.) office (Novosibirsk, Russia) and we would like to thank you for choosing our service! You can see our beautiful clients on our joint (with the agency from other country - Ukraine) web page www.GetMarriedNow.com.
Our city is Novosibirsk, it's very large city (the third largest city in Russia after Moscow and StPetersburg). Our Siberian ladies are very good educated and nice looking. Foreign men are very surprise to see a lot of beautiful ladies in our streets.
Please answer the following questions. We will need this information to complete your profile:
Social Status (single, divorced).
Real height.
Real weight.
Date of Birth. This information will also be used for processing your visa to Russia.
Education.
Current occupation (position).
Your photo. Jpg format only; please, no more than 100 Kb in size - we receive a lot of correspondence and capacities of our Internet service provider are limited due to poor quality of telephone lines. When picture size is bigger than 100 Kb, it could take literally hours to receive, and as a rule our Internet service provider ends up deleting all contents of our mailbox on their server.

You can add some information about the conditions of life, i.e. your living conditions (flat/condo or house), car, dog, cat, may be your approximate yearly income, etc. We also would like to mention here that when you are applying for fiancee visa, last information will be required for your Russian fiancee paperwork.
Your profile is added to our catalogue and all our female clients will be able to see it.

Our customers use SPI e-mail and translation services for letters. They should visit SPI office to send / receive your letters and they spend usually around 3 hours for every visit, so please, be respectfull to the ladies, who will write you and try at least to thank them for the correspondence...Smiley

When they receive\send e-mails from\to you, they pay the following fees:
The translation of one letter is $1.30 per page.
You can send your real photo or video by our mailing address:
Russia, Novosibirsk, 630049,
Krasnyi prospekt, 171, office 45,
Mayakina Liliya (SPI)

You can call in our office (3832)xx-xx-xx, the names of our interpreters are Marina and Inga. Your time's 12 hours behind of our time .

Majority of men come to Novosibirsk to meet and date women they choose. The men find in our agency all necessary services they need from the meeting their right person till making fiancee visas and you can apply to us directly to send some gifts and flowers, to obtain Russian visa, to accomodation in Novosibirsk
Best Regards,
Liliya Mayakina, S.P.I. director, Novosibirsk

Hm...

This is the same agency that tells guys in their FAQ that you dont have to go to Russia, that they can get you a K-1 without ever meeting. And they claim their K-1 rate is like 96% success or so.

Yeah, I trust them.....

and I agree with your point; (that part of the faq is the same as it was last year).  I am not defending them at all.  Merely reminding folks that even though I might have been there and done that once, does not make me an expert.  Based on what I've seen and done, to date, and the intense "agency" scrutiny that I've seen in these parts as of late, gmn gets a reprieve from me at least.  I know I've banged them hard two or three times on this pl thread because of my one and only shtty experience, and that... is not really fair.

It's the same as anything else you see around here... one guy get's po'd about something (we're talking about a man's emotions right?  anger and all) because it didn't go the way that "HE WANTED" exactly, (and we're all demanding sob's).  I took a look at my own state of mind one year later and realized that I was a stupid idiot to think, that Russia was a buy online here and get there plan.  It just doesn't work that way, no matter how you try to make it work.

Maybe if guys would look at a certain few ladies... and what THEY think, and how they live and work, instead of sweating the details about any particular agency then maybe things would go a little better for them.  Nothing against you sc, you've run the gauntlet when it comes to meet and greet.  Your trip report is valued, so please if you get the time and moxy to do it... please post the end.  It ain't great, like you said, but it is interesting and valued information to help all in their quest.

Thanks,
bd.
