I gotta tell you guys my cherry tomatos are awesomely good!!

And the green peppers and banana peppers are coming on big time.  Still haven't found the habanero yet, that I planted and got mixed in the bunch.

Got my first yellow blooming Sunflower, too.

Ha... I picked off 3 strawberries - this is the first year, so next year I'll have a helluva harvest.

Sweet Corn is coming along nicely too.

Already tilled under the Brocoli and lettuce...getting kinda hot now days.

But I've got a bunch (atleast 100 plants) of Roma, Beefsteak and cherry tomatos that like blooming out bigtime.

Bill,

Done anything lately besides growing the cherry tomatos, sunflowers, strawberries, corn, brocolii and lettuce?  Something related to searching for an East European wife?

Last I remember, you had a girlfriend, but some red flags came up and you had to end it.  Have any plans to try again?

It's quite a chore looking at profiles and doing the yea or nay thing.  Uncle Jack has redone his website and has done a pretty decent job of it.

I'm kinda like building up my cash position for a future trip at the moment, also...I'm no Paul Allen or a Howard Hughes.

Anyway, it's just so hard to write to somebody and create a relationship.  I seem to recall reading about a guy prior to me visiting Ukraine last year...about the emotional toll.

I thought, yea right.

But it does wear on you, and make you sort of weary...

I was thinking maybe heading over in the middle of the dreaded winter for about a week or so.  All kind of dependent on my job situation also.

I passed on going to Luthiania for 2 weeks (12July-27July)for the reserves, I'd be toteing a shotgun (not my typical jet engine mechanic job)...but it would have been some groovy duty.  And not to mention you guys/taxpayers would be picking up my tab.  But I declined ~ I had to get a job at home first before I start the globetrotting.

I'm waiting for the trip to Ukraine...  They have one going to Estonia, but I'm not an officer.  Bummer.

Yea, searching for a foreign wife can really wear a man down.  I probably almost gave up a few times myself in the process.  Just don't let the fatigue (emotional, financial, or otherwise) push you into making a choice that you wouldn't otherwise make.

One thing I've found that can really help with travel is frequent flyer miles.  I've got a credit card that awards a frequent flyer mile for every dollar charged that does pretty good.  It may not be worth the $40 annual fee if you can't charge enough though.  We charge virtually everything we buy, plus all the business expenses and have traveled to Mexico twice and Colombia twice on it in the past four years.  Gotta be careful about spending more than you have though.  Otherwise the interest charges can turn a good idea into a bad one.

We've also been switching long distance carriers every 6 months or so to get a several thousand frequent flyer mile sign up incentive.  It all adds up over time.

They buy everything on their credit cards. (groceries, bills, etc...)

They earn flier miles on every dollar they spend.  I am letting them pay my $10,000.00 tax bill this year and I will give them the cash to pay it off.  That way when I plan to go back to Ukraine my mother and father should be able to fly their and back for free.

Pretty good idea if you can be disciplined enough to pay that card off in full every month.

I believe I thought about paying our tax bill this way also, but if I remember correctly, there was a percentage added to the bill to do this.  Credit card processing costs the recipient money and some companies (Uncle Sam included if I remember correctly) charge extra to allow you to pay this way.

The Watermellons (2 types (light green and dark green) are now about the size of a large fist, and the Okra and Carrots are coming on too.

Oh, yea... and the squash is like everywhere!

Was fighting with the Johnson and crab grass tonight... gotta stay on that mess.

Don't forget if your tomatos are getting blossem end rot.  To put down a tablet or two of "Calcum" Tums....  I put down Calcum Nitrate, as I have plenty of it.
