I used to say most anything to get a great tip… Working my way threw college used to work for the old rich people. If they were single working mothers I would take the pizza in and set it on the table for her. (Pizza can get heavy) If it was a single guy (regulars call all the time) I would sometimes call him and see if he needed any cigarettes or beer and stop and pick that up or if it was a old guy or old woman I would stay and chat as long as I could. I really raked in the extra cash like this.. The Speaking on a cell phone thing would have been a great help if they had, had them when I delivered…
I will never forget this one time I lived in Tampa and I went to this one apartment. I knocked on the door and this Latin woman answered I gave her the pizza but oh darn I forgot the anchovies on the side so I had to go back and get them. I drove back got the anchovies and returned, I knocked on the door and I heard the woman say, “Come-in” but she really said “Coming” so I opened the door and when I stepped inside there on the living room floor was this naked Latin woman with this guy on top of her… I was like..Umm oh sorry I though you said come-in she said not I said I am coming… I was like here are your anchovies setting them on the floor as I stepped back out of the apartment. All I could think of after that is what in the world was she going to do with those anchovies…LOL
