Ok, guys, it is time to stop with the mickey mouse bickering.

Patrick has improved and changed the outlook of the board so that he no longer has to spend hours every week removing the bullsh1t once produced by the longtime and visiting trolls and me fighting with them. For you two professional guys to do such is just not fitting.

Quoted from dasher Dan, "The board and its readership is best served by people who will describe their experiences - some of which are contrasting with others experiences - and that is healthy."

"Some of which is contrasting-and that is healthy". Each of you made your points, Dan is saying not so quick, maybe that is not the case. Oscar is saying, "This is what I found here and here, and believe it to be the case".

Dan is urging caution, he made is point. Steve is saying this is what I found, he made his point. All the other guys who are reading this topic and who have an interest in the K-1 process, or might soon be, they benefit from this discussion. Any guy who has quetions can now ask of Dan, or Oscar, there concerns. So let's leave it there. Both of you (Dan & Oscar) have made your points, let it be.

Again from Dan's statement, 'People will describe their experiences-some of which are contrasting with others'. GUY'S, this is true. Different guys will have different experiences with regards to the same situation. A good example of which occured here a week ago. Last week I read, and smiled to myself with amusement as I read, of the simplest of differences over,..........'butter'.

Last week one guy spoke of how his girl put butter on everything, she loved butter. Another guy said he never saw anyone using butter during his entire stay. His girl didn't even know what butter was. The two went at each other just a little, nothing compared to Dan and Oscar, and I found I was smiling as I read of both of the guys discussion about 'butter'.  The one guy who never saw any butter firmly believes that butter must not be popular. He never saw any, his girl never used any, therfore to him, butter is not popular or used much in Ukraine. But oh, the other guy, he say's "What, are you crazy, my girl loved butter", sometimes she would even eat a little bread with her butter! I was smiling because each of these two now had very strong feelings about this rather simple issue due to what he saw and experienced.  Was one of these guys dead wrong and the other right?  No, it was simply each guys own experience.

I did not see the board up in arms over this great butter brusque!
So I recommend as with the great butter debate, this quagmire also subside.

I think that what made it easier to stop a butter debate was that neither of us were saying:

Don't (Do) take butter to Ukraine! They don't (do) use it!

Also, in both cases, we were simply describing our anecdotal experience... which is hard to refute unless you want to call the other person a liar. (Which thankfully, no one does much...)

Absolutes will draw the harshest criticism.

Once when I was sending an email to someone, and friend happened by and read it... and suggested that I reword it.

I said: "Why? That's the way I honestly feel!"

And he said something I've never forgotten... he said:

"Mark, words wound... The written word kills..."
