Just curious where you are in the K-1 process??  I should be getting my girls papers this coming week (she's going to send them DHL which will cost $47).  I had my petitions done in ink but today just put everything in thru the computer with that great new web site you recommended..

Brian, I wouldn't get worried about the K-1 process.  I remember meeting my wife in Paris and had her sign the G-325 and later I discovered there was some problem with the information on the form.  So I resigned her name to the application and it was immediately approved (13 days) from the initial filing.  Remember, when you apply for the visa through the Embassy you get to do this again, so don't worry about the paper size.  If you like, I can send you the letter we used which others have used successfully.

Sorry to interfere here with your conversation but i thought i could help (if you need that of course) with INS docs, you are welcome to my website for details. In general I charge $15 for the translation of a document, $3 for Certification and $15 for notarizing my signature on all of the documents, the work is done professionally and very fast, a day or 2 and another day for sending it to you.

but she already has all her documents translated and notorized..  

The couple of answers nobody seems sure of are these-

1- do you need only ONE 1-134 if she has a 6 year old or do you need two? (there is a place on the form to put a child so I can't see why you would need two!).

2- My girl was told in Ukraine, that they do not put a child on HER passport with her until he turns 7 years old.  If this is true, do I need to have her get her 6 year old son his OWN passport?  Some people are saying he doesn't need either at this age!!

Actually, I'm being so ridiculous about it I'm going insane.  (I hate this part).  I brought back perfectly signed G325A's from Russia, but they've been printed out on A11 paper at the internet cafe (which is longer and slightly narrower than usg 8.5x11) that we used over there, so I've taken a wild stab guess that that will be a great reason for ins/sd to reject them.  (They always look for reasons to deny, never to approve). What the heck do I know?  Nothing.

Lena has already had copies of ALL of her documents translated to english, and is ready to send them, along with the adit type photos to me right now, but I told her to hold off until I get the 325's completed on the right friggin paper, send them to her, and then she'll sign and then return everything all at once.

Right now, I've only got one little crapper thing sitting in the sink, which I forgot to ask her about this morning on the phone and that was the exact date of her divorce.  Dang it, it (the decree) was right in front of me when we had all of the papers out two days before I left.  Wow she's organized, as she had every legal document about her that we needed in a plastic bag (but her original birth cert was at her mother's dacha 120km away, so that had to wait) --  haha... a red flag maybe??? (just kiddin).

Anyway, we'll be back on the phone monday am, and I'll verify the "day" of her divorce, and then go ahead and fill out the forms and get them out to her right away.

I'd like to find ANY measure of speed in this thing possible.  I'm so pissed right now (but pleasantly) that we're not together, and I'm afraid I may end up taking another visit over there within the next 60 days.  It's not that I'm worried about her, but worried about me.  If this thing takes longer than say August 31 (yeah I know, I'm wishing in one hand and shtting in another to see which one fills up first) to get her here, then that's it...  I'll be off to Novosibirsk again.

Ha, I took 7 rolls of negatives to the drug store today to have some reprints of good pics we made there because she kept all of the good ones.  I had to have the photo-processor cut the negatives up and put them into standard sleeves so I could get the things made... jeez.

LOL! You guys remind me of the time almost a year ago I was going through this process for my Russian fiance (now wife).

And you are so right, no matter what web site you look at and what information your fiance hears from her friends..it will be contradictory.

The best info for your petition submittal is through the INS website for your district, it is the most up to date (forget any other sites due to the fact many are a few months or even a few years out of date).

I believe you need only a G-325 for your fiance, her child will be listed on that form. I too used the on-line forms and printed them on pink paper, because I messed up the form that I ordered from INS.

...but, if it REALLY bothers you, practice her signature for about 30 minutes, until you get it just right, and then...  I'm not saying I've done this but I know PLENTY of guys who have and they had NO problems.

Sounds like we are at exactly the same point!  But I don't understand why you don't just have her use the right paper over there and print off the
G-325A's, just sign them and pop them off to you??

Are you sending EVERYTHING with your petition?  I'm sending all of it, my I-134, police report, name change certificate from maiden to married name etc., everything, so we don't have to wait for them to be sending her packets etc..

Oscar,
The service center where you send the initial petition has nothing to do with the "packets" that are sent from the embassy.

It is a two step process... the INS processes some things, sends the info to the embassy.

There, the embassy people deal with the second set of documents and forms.

And they are different.  If you send ALL of the required documents to the INS service center here, you may actually create more of a hassle with excess forms that they don't have anything to do with.  Even the police reports will probably expire before your fiancee's interview will occur.

I don't know, but that's just my opinion.

I am told by quite a few people that to send EVERYTHING this way you can save a good few weeks because with everything there, they do not need to send the fiance instructions (packet) from Warsaw and wait for her to send them these things!

Ok... I've been cruising the message board over at doc steens site too... and every other piece of info I can get my hands on.

Do me a favor please and give me an "exact" list of what you're sending in to the INS, which branch you're using, etc.  I mean, all I've done up to now, is simply get more confused about forms, document copies, certified or not, translated or not, adit or passport pics or not, number of forms, number of pics, ad-nauseum to the point that I'm ready to just say the heck with it and hire an attorney.  

I really just don't have the time for this and the last thing I want, is to get an rfe notice or incur a delay because of an error or something.
