Okay, I filed for the AOS at the Texas Service Center (Live in Atlanta), they sent it back saying it has to be files at the district office. But on the website it says to send to Texas. Anyone with advice, experience, etc.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know what web page you used but it was wrong for sure! Anyway I don't know the web page and don't have much time to search for you, but find the INS web page and on it somewhere should be listed the office nearest you or a link to to find offices and it should also give details how they want your documents delivered for each office. ( in person or by mail )

...says to file the AOS at the regional office (not so)...DE is correct.. there must be a personal interview at the Atlanta INS...fingerprints etc. If you would like, update your profile.   You are welcome to review mine..

What is your experience concerning the AOS with a local office?

About five hours in Sacramento to file and five months to wait for our interview (6/20). Everything went fairly smooth abeit slowly (about one AOS processed per hour).

Oh, and another trip back to Sac the following week to get fingerprints done. That took about an hour (not counting the four hours of travel time).

The lady doing the fingerprints was a real b!tch to V but very nice to the other Hispanics (like her).

This was kind of like the treatment she received from the (Asian) lady when V went through Immigations in Seattle. Luckily a (white) guy interceded after about fifteen minutes of her being interrogated (about some things that were really none of their business) and let her go through. Racism and prejudice is alive and well at the INS! Go figure...

Atlanta, should be named the capital of this particular state of affairs.  Thanks a lot for the info...

bd.

ps: my ex and i had a lawsuit going a while back against the you know what's in the you know where with the you know agency...  outright abuse of authority, and treating her like total dirt.  I think these people, ARE incompetent, racially biased, white folk hating bastards.  These f's make me wanna shave my head, put on leather boots and get swastikas tattoos.  My tolerance for this state of thinking has almost reached its limit.

AOS is filed at your nearest district INS office that has jurisdiction over the area where you live.  Not the regional service center!
