Pretour

After my bad luck with the girl at M@rdinsons last year I looked for something else to do.  I do not blame M@rdinson.  No agency can know every girl well.  However, I went through all the girls I liked at M@rdinson and they are a small agency with not much girl turnover.  Also, they are Ukrainian based and just do not know US level of customer serice.  I looked into going on Jack's Firstdre@m tour but had been to Kiev, had no desire to go to Odessa and just wanted to try Russia again.  When a former salesman from Lifetimep@rtners told me he was representing a new agency in the Russian resort city of Sochi and would make it worth my while to go over (deeply discounted service prices) because they are trying to get this full service agency off the ground and it should better than Lifetimep@rtners I decided to go.  They had no customers since September 11, had about 250 girls in the agency and were getting scared they needed promotion badly.  If anyone else is interested in this agency they are as good as Lifetimep@rtners (virtually identical service) but have shelves stocked with goods ie. pretty girls unlike the Lifetimep@rtners which has been fished out of pretty women for years.  Sochi might get fished out eventually as well, but for now, because the agency @ Russi@n Rom@nce has such a poor reputation, few Americans have been to this city.  I knew it would be very similar to crimea, which I had never been to so I made flight arrangements, booked time off from work and decided to go.  The first thing I noticed is that you have to fly from Moscow to Adler airport in Sochi.  Coming from New York I would not be able to fly the same day to Moscow and would have to spend a night in Moscow before flying to Sochi the next day.  The return trip would be made in one day ie. Sochi to Moscow with a two 1/2 hour delay prior to return to New York.  I started my trip the evening of April 16 and arrived back in New York the evening of April 30.  Anyway, I did not know what to do as far as staying in Moscow.  I had been to Moscow three other times and decided the Novotel would be the best option for me.  Any service wanted $35 into and out of Moscow, so to get a flat in Moscow I would have to pay alot going in and out.  Novotel had free shuttle buses to pick you up at the airport and into Moscow if I wanted to go.  New York was a record 89 degrees F when I left.  I arrived in Moscow at about 3 pm after a more efficient than ever customs (I suggest the red line because I always have more than $1500 and want the stamp from the officials so I am not hassled on the way out) to a cold hard rain with temperatures slightly above freezing.  I went to the Novotel, where I definitely was reamed on the price $170 including an excellent breakfast the next morning plus free transfer to SVOI for the flight to Sochi.  When I look back I could have spent $35 into and out of Moscow and stayed at the Izmailova hotel for $35 per night for a total of $105.  To me the extra $65 was worth it for the proximity to the airport, not having to breathe all the fumes going into and out of Moscow and the chance to just relax at a super hotel - Novotel.  If you have never been to Moscow before by all means go in and enjoy the sights.  Flats in Moscow are expensive and unless you are willing to put up with the hassles of public transportation (fun if you have time) into and out of the city I think you are better off in a hotel for one night.  The flight to Sochi was delayed the next morning for four hours due to fog, but when I finally got to the hotel I was staying at I was really happy to meet Natasha, the beautiful manager of that agency (if you are a guy over six feet tall looking for a truly beautiful 36 year old girl with a 16 year old daughter she is the girl for you ie. she has beautiful features, long blond hair, blue eyes a shapely sexy body).  She is very into her job and will only consider an American who is tall (she is 5'9" probably 6' with heels), handsome and mature.  I also met two other American guys, one 51 and one 58 - really nice individuals, one from Georgia and one from the San Fransciso area.  They were at the Valentin hotel, $42 per night and really way more than I wanted.  This is a beautiful brand new hotel with king size beds as well as free breakfast - but they choose what you get, one morning eggs, one morning meat, one morning fish.  I ended up staying there a few days but then moved to an old Soviet style hotel nearby for $17 per night called the Karmela.  It had good hot water and a comfortable bed.  Anyway, the first night we went to a nightclub which ended up being my favorite called Senor Pomodoro.  They served the best pizza I have ever had in the FSU - and it was not because I was drunk.  After checking into the hotel I went to the office of @dventures@ndrom@nce to see which girls were lined up for me, which ones I wanted that did not want me and to choose others in their books.  The books are much better than their web site because they have many more pictures of the girls often full body shots etc.  Natasha already had one date lined up for me the first night and another four the next day but wanted me to find more.  I found a total of 21 girls that I wanted to meet from age 21 to age 33, all without children, all between 5'3" and 5'7"  I am really  a bit over 5'7" though I list myself at 5'6" just for the element of suprise.  The first girl was a divorced 33 year old real estate lawyer, 5'5" who I could not believed looked so young.  She was interested in looking her best and worked out hard with weights and yoga, did not smoke and only drank cognac or vodka.  She spoke enough English that with my broken Russian and her English we could communicate fine without a translator.  Her name was Natasha, Natalie for short.  The other Americans and I started right off the bat with beers and a bottle of Gzelka, my favorite vodka.  By 3 am after alot of dancing and a general great time we all cabbed back to the hotel.  Generally, cabs were 60 rubbles ($2) anywhere you wanted to go.  Occasionally, when I gave a date $ for the ride to their places it ran me 100 rubbles because they were further than the center of the city.  @dventures@drom@nce was with us every step of the way with an interpreter for each guy, unless we declined the interpreter.  Most of the interpreters were young pretty girls, except for mine which was a guy named Yuroslav.  I did not mind.  Yoroslav and I became great freinds by the time I left.  In many ways it is better to have a guy interpreter because the girl knows you are only into her.  Often girls you are dating get jealous when you have a hot looking young interpreter they perceive as trying to hit on you.  I'll continue later or tomorrow, I have to get some work done now.  I hope this agency and city is interesting to you guys.

I was in Sochi last October. Nice city. Because my girlfriend was sick and we were booked into a sanitorium I didn't see as much of the area as I wanted. Our favorite place in town was a little restaraunt near the big mural of Lenin downtown. We made friends with the local Armenians that frequent that place and the musicians loved to see us. Everytime I went there the one band member bought me a drink for his "Kanatskee friend".

I flew out of Adler airport but flew through Vknovo in Moscow. Not as handy as my usual SVO2 - SVO1 transfers. But because I had a day layover it didn't matter much.

If anyone wants help with travelling to Sochi I recommend
http://www.russianriviera.com/
The owner Dan answered a lot of questions for me. I ended up not using his services but he was still a big help. He's a travel agent and not connected to any marriage agencies as far as I know.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your report.

I think thats exactly what all of us should do. I dont have a problem with you Bruce. I never did. If I ever have said anything that offended you, then please accept an apology from me.

I look forward to your next report. Good luck and I hope you have finally found what you are looking for.

I was never offended by any of your posts at all.  I appreciate the comments because I have found your intentions to be always be good.  None of us is infallible.  We all say / post something we wish we hadn't occasionally.  Boards like this do a tremendous service to all of us.
