Tashkent, Uzbekistan

I plan on going there late May or early June to meet a woman I have been corresponding with.  I would appreciate any tips from someone who has been there plus recommendations regarding translators, apartments, etc.

For flights, consider Uzbeckistan Airways which flys New York (JFK) to Tashkent Uzbeckistan twice a week (Fridays and Sundays). This might be easier than trying to fly through Moscow with the new visa requirements that people have been posting here.)
