Last Minute Moscow Advice Wanted

I am going to Moscow Monday and would invite any tips for the newbie in Moscow. Places to dance, eat, and of course avoid.
Are there any classic hooker/RW scams to watch for, as I am staying in a hotel, and I have heard they know your every move via the hotel.
what should we look for at any socials we may attend? Are they about the same as in Kiev?

Are you going with Anastasia.  I was wondering because you asked about the socials.  

As you may know Anastasia is kind of under new management and besides, I think you know my take on the socials as per finding a mate but I do admit that they do make for a lot of fun.  

Exactly what hotel will you be staying at?  Rags and I stayed at the Rossiya near red square and you can bet your bottom dollar that they know your every move in that hotel.  

Personally, I have so many fond memories of Moscow that it still leaves a sting in my heart because I miss it so much.  Tons to do and see.

Have fun and enjoy a truely beautiful and historic city. This is only the beginning of your journey so don't think that you have to meet, fall in love, and get engaged in one trip. You are on a quest, not a mission. Don't set any goals or deadlines. Finding a mate is no different over there than it is here. It takes time and caution. You are not going to "save" anyone from their miserable life. Moscovites have it pretty good and happy where they are. If you find someone who does want you to get them out of there, run. Definitely the wrong reason for a relationship.

Don't miss going to see the Circus and say "Hi" to the good folks at Fridays for me.

Remember if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

TGIFRIDAYS near REd Square, I remember it well...one place to have an American meal in Moscow, but a little expensive compared to USA prices. They speak English very well there.

My advice, go out and travel like a Russian...get away from the tourist places and see the city by Metro and Tram. If you meet a nice girl (like I did) she will be happy to take you to all of the sites and see them in a different way.
Do not be afraid to go out to eat in Russian places, you will save a lot of money and the food is good if you have someone order for you. I was suprised as to how many places will speak to you in English, you will not be treated like you are out of place..although I always felt I had the "made in the USA" sign on my forehead every where I went.

Mkae sure you take "new" USA money, 10's and 20's are accepted at kiosks everywhere, You will not have any problem finding money exchange kiosks throughout town. The exchange rate fluctuates from one place to another, so find a good one and stick with it...."DO NOT TAKE TRAVELERS CHEQUES" you will get raped on the fees and exchange rates.
