Hi Rags,

When my wife and I were in San Francisco for AOS, they told us to expect a letter for interview in about 6 months. I have no idea what real time frame there is from hearing from different FSU women my wife has met since her arrival.
We heard from one woman at AOS that had an attorney prepare her papers(she say she expects green card this year). Others have told us it is 18 months till interview at the S.F. office....so I do not know what to believe!

Let me know what you find out,

Have you been to AOS yet?

I,m sorry Rags..I did not read properly that you already have AOS interview date. We still do not have our letter yet, we submitted AOS in February.

How long did it take for you to get your interview date after AOS?

We filed in Sac 2/28 and got our notice about 10 days ago. The interview is 6/20 so that's a little less than 4 months from application to interview. I guess if it takes more than six weeks to process after the interview I'll ask for advanced parole. (Bye bye $220) Whatever it takes to get them back to see her parents.

Rags,
At the end of your "successful" AOS interview, the INS will stamp your wife's passport.  This stamp is the same as a green card.  It will enable her to all the same rights as a green card.  There is no need for an Advanced Parole.  An Advanced Parole is for period before the "successful" AOS interview.

Thanks for the info. I didn't read DE's post before I wrote mine. I gotta start reading from the bottom up.

She should get a stamp in her passport at the AOS interview that will allow her to come and go until the green card arrives.
