Student Visa Approved

Did you guys see that the INS just informed two of the WTC hijackers on Monday (3/11/02), that their Student Visas were approved last July, and they can legally stay in the country for 3 months until Oct '01. Like one of the guys at work says -- You Can't Make This Sh-- Up!!

The two terrorists, Atta and Al-Shehhi, got relatively fast service from the INS - only one year to process their applications, plus 7 months to notify the flight school.  The INS office in Chicago says that it takes them 26 months to process an adjustment of status application.  Probably, the real processing times are longer.  They haven't hit any of their announced processing times yet.  

The INS also sent the notices to the right school.  You can't take that for granted when you are dealing with the INS!  Maybe they have some sort of a special deal for terrorists?
