My wife's AOS was approved at the end of December in Philly and the INS guy (Officer Rosado) told us that it would take 2 weeks for the fingerprint and background check to be completed.  He told us we could then come back to the office and get the passport stamped.  We went to the INS office (which is 4 hours away) last Friday and was told that Rosado was on vacation.  They looked up her file after waiting for 3 hours and was told that the AOS file was not finished, and that we would have to contact Rosado to find out when we can get it stamped.  The problem is that I had a number for the Philly office and was told that it would go directly to the office, but when I call I get an answering machine.  Now I don't know what to do.  We have to get the passport stamped immediately so my wife can get her drivers liscence and go to school.  I tried calling the 800 number, which of course they are dumber than monkeys, and say they don't have any contact info.  I am hoping someone reading this message has some way of getting hold of a real person at the Philly office.

Sorry I can't help, but looks like you'll have to wait on that guy to return. Do you know when he is do back? If not do you know anyone living near the office who can go and ask if he is working today? I was surprised that you even got a number to a local INS office at all! I do know the 800 numbers they give you are of no help !

Good luck
Mike
